Bingo! That is all this is. I get it, some fans want to move on from Dak. They saw the trade for Lance as their savior to make this happen. They are trying hard to try and talk this into existence. And before he actually stepped on the field this preseason, this dream was alive and well. No idea how anyone with common sense can view how Lance played against preseason quality defenses and think he can be a good NFL QB. Or watched any of his games with SF a few years ago. He is what he is, not that good. His ceiling seems to be someone who carries a clipboard and will have to prove year in, year out he even belong on the 53.
The truth is for as much as some Cowboys fans get accused of being "Dak first" or "Dak above the team." fans. There's just as many who are biased the other way around. As far as being so against Dak remaining the Cowboys QB beyond this season, that they'll prop up just about any QB as an improvement or upgrade over Dak. As some just about admitted they would take a chance with the Cowboys starting any other QB as long as Dak is gone. I get that some wish to move on from Dak, but don't see Trey Lance being the QB needed to get the Cowboys over the postseason hump. Which is suppose to be the entire point of replacing Dak if it's shown he isn't the answer to break the Cowboys postseason drought.
There are other QBs in the NFL who right along with Dak hasn't had much postseason success. And yet I don't think Trey Lance would be getting hyped up to this extent if he was on any other roster besides the Cowboys, including ones where as I mentioned the starting QBs have been in the NFL for years without having much postseason success. Dak has his shortcomings and isn't elite, but those who say his flaws and shortcomings are as bad or limited as Trey Lance's are. Or who says there is no difference between Dak's throwing ability and Lance's throwing ability, is being just as biased against Dak as they have accused others if being biased in favor of Dak staying on the team after this season.
