Cowboys are fortunate to have Lance
Then wouldn’t it be prudent to offer him a contract to retain his services beyond this season? The Cowboys would get him signed if they consider him important to their future. He’s a free agent in 27 weeks. What is the hold up?

We keep hearing his HS days, as well, but I have not seen anything that he struggled. Heck, show us some proof. But many HS QB's struggle.

He sat, probably because there was a senior QB in front of him. Same for College. But this does not fit your agenda.
It is like trying to use statistics and twisting them to prove or disprove your agenda.

46 completions as a Senior is not struggling?

When you grow up in a town of 13,000 people, you think he sat behind a senior in front of him?

Do your own research.

NFL roster for 4 years and for 2 years in a row lost the back up spot. Most QBs who have great to elite careers in the NFL, like some believe Lance can still have. Haven't struggled to even keep the QB2 spot on an NFL roster. And didn't throw 4 or 5 INTs against 3rd and 4th stringers in preseason. Including the ones who sat for a couple of years and then went on to be top 5 to elite QBs at some point in their NFL careers.

The only and main reason some are clinging onto hope with Lance is being he was drafted 3rd overall. Doesn't matter his age, as QBs around his same age drafted lower and in the same position he is right now. Wouldn't be getting this much time to develop or show they can be a starting QB in the NFL some day. If he sits for another year and is still in the same spot as far as development goes, then what? He had a chance to step forward and at least win the QB2 spot this year. Which is would have if he really showed enough development even from last year. Yet one more year is going to show he can be a reliable starting QB for the Cowboys for the foreseeable future. And one that can get the Cowboys into the playoffs, lead the Cowboys past the 2nd round and eventually command the Cowboys to a Super Bowl win?
Did you watch the interceptions a little freakish and the fact that they were in the preseason . . . No harm no foul. Did you see him perform against the Raiders starters? He did well

Worst draft day trade in NFL History!!! He will be famous for it. He will be in Sports Trivia.

What QB Prospect did the 49ers Niners trade 3 first round picks for to move up in the draft?

Or, are Trey haters blind to the fact that he can become a good, if not better, NFL QB.
That is more like it.
all evidence to date including coaches and how the career has progressed and the actions taken there of indicate nobody believes that.but you go ahead and hold on to that 0.05% chance of him turning good, which is what you complain about anyway.

They will sign him to a very reasonable offer. If they sit him all year they actually keep the price low. The only reason they have not resigned him is because there is another QB on the Roster that is in a prove it year and Jerry is waiting to see if Dak steps up to the challenge and brings post season success to the team this year

There are many moving parts at play

Now His ceiling is low

Oh and another thing. You are the one who keeps parroting that there is no improvement yet you post a quote about the Coach claiming a ton of improvement. Very odd
there is improvement. almost every player coming to NFL improves regardless, but is it enough? and what's the ceiling?

:lmao: using 46 completions as an example, he did have 88 attempts. Many factors come into play. They ran the ball a lot, and his WR's were not all that good.

If he had thrown 5 TDs instead of INTS then it's more likely he would have won the back up job. Especially if the claim is that he played well against the Raiders. So then you can't act like his preseason performances should only count for something in the game he played well in. I thought he should have a fair chance to show he could beat out Cooper Rush for the QB2 spot and he got that chance. Unless some believe that Cooper Rush was already the predetermined QB2 before the preseason games were even played. Which shows how the coaching staff didn't see enough in Lance's development yet to even think he had a legitimate chance to win the back up job. Enough where they would trust him over Cooper Rush to step in and play against starting defenses in the regular season, in the event of Dak getting injured for any lengthy amount of time.

There is more evidence he will be good, over your .05% of evidence. Do not put your .05% on me.

I am not complying about anything. You and the Trey hate club are constantly doing that.

I am a fan of team over individual player first. Something you apparently are not.
