I am not in to conspiracy theories, but what is up with officiating?

I think the main area in terms of officiating that needs to be cleaned up is pass interference. Obviously this isn't news to anyone here, but it's the penalty that is the most inconsistant across different officials, and being a spot foul means that it can have a massive effect on the game. I'd say the majority of the time, the refs get things like face mask and hands to the face penalties correct, holding less so but it's not unreasonable in most cases. But PI calls are so over the place that it really hurts the game. IMO there should be way less PI calls, the flag should be thrown when there is clear interference from the DB which significantly hinders the reciever's ability to catch, not when the DB gives a little tug of the jersey, which is how they're calling it now.

It is ridiculous. At least 4 or 5 blatant penalties that didn't get called. Then there's the holding penalties that get called against the Cowboys O-Line that aren't penalties. We've seen that a few times this year. Martin pancakes somebody and refs just can't recognize how good he is. And as Cowboys fans we can't say anything. We get called whiners and babies but we see these terrible calls way too much.

The opponents have been mugging our receivers and not being called. Even though its so blatant and obvious. Yet, when we do it is easily a flag. That has happened against the long pass to Jordan Reed against the Skins and to Durant on a long ball against the Ravens. Both were hardly fouls compared to the blatant fouls made against our receivers. Yet people here are saying that its been going on both ways. I don't see what their seeing and I think I'm pretty objective. I just think that they are in denial on how bad refs have been this year.

Kind of reminds me of the Spurs landing Tim Duncan.

David Robinson goes down, they have an awful year than land arguably the best PF of all-time.
Not arguably....definitely. he did it on both ends. He was the winning culture. He got 5 rings. The only thing he didnt win, but should have at least twice was DPOY.

Love Duncan, but I still don't understand why he's rated against power forwards, when he's played Center the majority of his career.

Exactly and the Cowboys have been good enough to overcome the bad calls but it's ridiculous how many of them could of affected the outcome of the game.

It's one thing if it's a 50-50 type of call but how can they not call Bease getting his face mask pulled and head whacked on the same play? Even the Deadskins DB was shocked it wasn't called.
If they could take some of that time away from commercials to invest in making the game officiated better, there would be a much improved product. It seems like there is more commercial time in the games this year.

My conspiracy theory is that the league is trying to cut down on penalties so the officials are letting a lot more go than they used to, particularly concerning defensive contact. I think officials are under a mandate to ignore most contact. I don't think the Beasley face mask falls into that category, but if you're no longer paying close attention to corners and receivers shoving on each other, you miss some of that stuff.

Does seem like the refs are "letting them play" more this year..............maybe its to speed up the game with ratings being low this year, who knows.
