Strawman and deflection. I'm not a supporter but am definitely trending that direction. Ur making assumptions which may are maynot be true. We dont really know the process that led to Callahan calling plays. My guess would be more to allow him to bave more time to supervise the entire team. I xidnt like jearing that Ryan skipped meetings etc. As basically CEO he needs to have his hands in everything.

Its called common sense. Now if the Cowboys were winning and the offense was thriving, and Garrett was lauded for his play calling abilities, THEN handed over the reins to a protege...............Ok, you could say it was the process..

However, lets look at the facts with no assumptions.

1. two 8-8, disappointing seasons under Garrett
2. Jones was quoted several times to the media that Garrett had made blunders in his in game management.
3. Garrett has been hammered by the media and fans for his play calling and handling of the offense.
4. Jones clearly stated that he wanted Garrett to have both responsibilities early on.
5. Jones clearly stated that he changed his mind on that. Jones admitted he was wrong.
6. Jones states after another missed playoffs that everyone would be unfomfortable at Valley Ranch
7. He forces Garrett to fire his brother
8. Even up into OTA's Garret is claiming that "I expect the status quo on him calling the plays"
9. Jones announces that Callahan will now be calling the plays
10. Garrett looks pissed when the media tell him what Jones said
11. Garrett backtracks, then plays it off that the decision was made by when the season ended and that he simply didnt want to leak because siting a competitive advantage in doing so.

Sorry, but the evidence is overwhelming. Anyone that takes in the facts and comes up with the conclusion that all this was Garretts grand plan is kidding themselves.

Yeah, I know Marinelli and Kiffin didn't wan't to draft him, which you admitted yourself. And the boards say he was rated a first round player and Jason Garrett and Tom looked upset when passing on Floyd, and your arguing that we don't really know? Funny how Dez Bryant running the wrong routes was an establised fact last year or Romo changing plays that would have worked.

How about Garrett's philosophy going into the draft?

So Floyd was the best player per their boards.

Nicely done. I was looking for that recent quote. Garrett clearly showing his thoughts the draft and further signifying that Jones is in charge on draft day and does what he wants.

Not all head coaches in the NFL call plays, in fact I believe a minority does. Without a doubt Garrett has much better people around him this year.

Well, we'll just have to agree to disagree. I generally see a lot of shades of grey between the extremes. When it comes down to it you draft a player you think can help you and hope you got it right. Again valuing players in subjective order is just a guideline and is well, subjective. Many players drafted high don't deserve in hindsight to have been drafted there. So I don't believe in getting boxed in because a player is ranked higher. Too easy to have it wrong. You have to have a board but taking it as the gospel is not always going to be the right thing to do. That's just me and I suspect a lot of organizations make judgment decisions come time to put their pick on a card. JMO.

However, lets look at the facts with no assumptions.

1. two 8-8, disappointing seasons under Garrett YEP
2. Jones was quoted several times to the media that Garrett had made blunders in his in game management. YEP
3. Garrett has been hammered by the media and fans for his play calling and handling of the offense. NOPE but criticized and rightly so.
4. Jones clearly stated that he wanted Garrett to have both responsibilities early on. YEP
5. Jones clearly stated that he changed his mind on that. Jones admitted he was wrong. I DON'T know about that one.
6. Jones states after another missed playoffs that everyone would be unfomfortable at Valley Ranch YEP
7. He forces Garrett to fire his brother THAT'S an assumption
8. Even up into OTA's Garret is claiming that "I expect the status quo on him calling the plays" THEY all also said a decision hadn't been made. All clearly hedging their bets. Not much of anything really said.
9. Jones announces that Callahan will now be calling the plays YEP and that was Jerry being Jerry and very wrong....but irrelevant to the discussion. Can't make the leap from announcement to fact. Assumption
10. Garrett looks pissed when the media tell him what Jones said DIDN'T see it but I bet several thoughts crossed his mind. But you can't look at someone and read their mind which you keep doing as fact.
11. Garrett backtracks, then plays it off that the decision was made by when the season ended and that he simply didnt want to leak because siting a competitive advantage in doing so. MAYBE. We'll never know what that process was and you're pontificating as if you have THE FACTS and you're making assumptions.

Sorry, but the evidence is overwhelming. Anyone that takes in the facts and comes up with the conclusion that all this was Garretts grand plan is kidding themselves.

You can have the last word.

I don't know what it is and it may sound foolish after vigorously calling for him to be fired but I just have this gut feeling that Jason Garrett is going to take us places this season, he seems confident and eager for success. I don't have any cold hard statistics or momentum to prove it but as made famous by Friday Night Lights "Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can't Lose" and I think that he will have this team playing with their hearts this season, maybe I'm wrong but I've learned to go with my gut.

I am right there with you. I don't know if its this season but I truly believe Garrett is onto to something. His tone is stronger. Just take some guys longer but IF this is Jason Garrett we have been waiting on - We are going to see him for very long time.

Thats just the point. Now that Garrett has been kicked aside with the offense, and Jones fired his hand picked coordinator for his own, how much credit can Garrett really get at this point? If Garrett doing less and less means the team does better and better, that will say it all.
