I can see us bringing Ezekiel Elliott back

Was the plan from the beginning. After June 1st he collects 6 million. JJ could sign him to a new contract for minimum and heavy incentives. He was injured last year. Yep, he lost some but is way better than what we saw last year at the end. Let him be the hammer and Pollard show up and then this scat back hurt teams. All depends on the O-Line.
He does not "collect" anything. All money paid to Zeke happened before 2023.

If they don’t sign right after the draft, Zeke/Fournette/Hunt will probably wait the off-season out until someone has a major injury or if a lead guy is woefully underpeforming

No team wants him, why should we always get the bottom. At this point he is best to fill a spot if a player gets injured on any roster and will likely get just a few dollars above vet minimum out of "respect"

The run game will suck this year. And Dak can’t do it on his own.
with no run game to take the pressure off. He may throw 30 INT‘s

No RB, an OL late, non impact this year. From the draft.

He doesn't collect anything June 1st. That's just the dead cap hit. He's already been paid the $50 million in guaranteed money from his contract.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him return as the short yardage back. It was never Pollard's strength and I wouldn't bet on Deuce on 4th and 1. Ronald Jones has never been that guy and they can cut him in camp given how his contract is structured. But it's the Cowboys, so who knows?

Luepke can do everything zeke can and he's not 80 years old
Now there's the wild card. The Cowboys don't really have a good short yardage guy at RB. But if Luepke makes the team he's built to get a tough yard on 4th down.

I'd rather go that direction. I've had enough Zeke drama on this board to last me a lifetime.

I honestly believe Zeke is done. In true Cowboys fashion, we overvalued a player far beyond what the rest of the league does and for far longer than the rest of the league would. TP should’ve been starting 2 years ago

Zeke was so terrible last year that virtually anything is going to be an upgrade. He had 90 yards in his final 50 carries. Stick a fork in him.

I certainly would have preferred something better than what Dallas got to replace him, that said, what they got is clearly an upgrade. There will be free agents and undrafted guys that would be an upgrade.
