When will Jerry Jones squash his ego and hire a real coach? Why can't he sit in the owner box and collect trophies? Knowing business is one thing. Knowing football is obviously something else.

Who is a "real" coach in your mind?

Let me guess, you are undefeated every year on Madden, right.;)

:lmao2:

Wow what a funny guy you are.

Who asked to be undefeated? I just would rather take advantage of opportunities, especially knowing they are only going to come around every so often. The team had the best opportunity we have had in a very long time.

Not only did they not seize it, they were used as door mats.
If not enjoying that makes me a bad fan, well then I'm a bad fan.

Talk about knee pads, did Jones buy you yours? Or did you get them yourself?

Yet irrelevant to the point.

How is it irrelevant? Great players, no argument. They are sitting home with hopes of next year. Yeah.

You have the same opportunity every year. This team, now cancer-free thanks to Jerry, and with some leadership infusion thanks to Wade, took advantage of the opportunity and went quite a long way for a team without a championship caliber OL.

Yes, Jerry Jones, almost improbably, improved this team and it is going to continue by keeping almost all the pieces in place. It's far more satisfying to fire everyone when we don't get the Super Bowl trophy we want, but the reality is Dallas has gone from a mediocre, playoff-one-and-done type team to near-elite.

I believe had Romo had any protection at all on Sunday, we win that game. There's no need to fire anyone/everyone, we just need to fix the OL and the kicker.

Here's the deal.....

Wade Phillips is the best coach we've had since Jimmy Johnson left. PERIOD!

He's the first coach since the Jimmy Johnson and his triplets left. Yeah I know Barry Switzer did after Jimmy left, be we all know it was really Jimmy's team. This is Wade Phillip's team and you can see what he's done with it. He's 33-15, which is pretty damn good.

And yeah Jerry Jones is a meddling owner, but I have to admit he's a pretty decent GM. I think when Stephen Jones takes over we'll have a smarter operator seeing as he was the one to oust TO, but we won't know till then. We've gotta be grateful for that nice new stadium Jerry built and the fact that he's spending money to try and make our team a winner. I don't mind Jerry as an owner, because I know he's putting everything he can into making our team a winner.

No, Wade Phillips has had the "most" talent for the longest period of time since Barry Switzer left.

Bill Parcells is the best coach we have had since Jimmy Johnson left, he just never had the talent and didn't get a Quarterback until his last year.

Wade wasn't here for 13 years.

1 win in 3 years ain't bad . ESP with 2 division titles and avg 11 wins a season.

Where did I say Wade was here the last 13 years? But I do know in the last 13 we have one playoff win. And I do know in Wade's entire career he is now 1-5 in the playoffs. Forgive me for not being overly impressed.

Isn't it sad? It's a shame to see how numb so many Cowboys fans have become with losing.

It's as if they're content with just being there.

I for one don't understand this logic and think that it's quite sad.

One playoff win in 13 years.. Wow. Is that really what so many fans have come to consider as being successful?

Pathetic.

Seriously. But Jerry has set the bar so low that just winning a wildcard game practically calls for a ticker tape parade.

Do you really remember Bill Parcells' shreddable defense? The one that faded badly every December? The one where Roy Williams learned to turn around and point at his teammates?

Parcells definitely helped to rebuild the team through the draft, but remember- he drafted Julius Jones over Steven Jackson. He wanted Marcus Spears over Demarcus Ware.

How many NFC East titles did Parcells bring to Dallas? Zero.
Wade's 2 for 3.

I can't believe people are moaning for Bill Parcells' 1 and done wild card teams from 2003 and 2006 over Wade's division champs, who actually won a playoff game.

Anyone who thinks it's about the results has to believe Phillips is better for this team than Parcells was. The results speak for themselves.

Parcells had the better rep, but I do not believe the Parcells we got was the better coach.

Parcells was burned out as a HC the day we signed him.

Parcells the front office man made a huge impact however.

...i feel your pain my friend...near Lafayette myself...

...you have to ask yourself what is a winning tradition...by Cowboys standards that is multiple superbowls over as many years...

...i think we all long for 5-6 years of dominance like the nineties but few teams have achieved that since the salary cap started...

Superbowls:

New England...4 over a 7 year span [Belichick [01, 03-04, 07 [3-1]...5 over a twelve year span [Parcells 96 [0-1] -Belichick [3-1]...Brady

Pittsburgh...3 over a 14 year span [Cowher [95-05] 1-1, Tomlin [08] 1-0] or 2 in 4 years [Cowher 1-0, Tomlin 1-0]...Roethlisberger

That's the only two teams...even the great Peyton Manning only has 1 appearance/win in 10 seasons in Indianapolis...

McNabb and the Eagles have 5 conference appearances and a superbowl loss in 10 years...

...i think a lot of us miss the fact that this was a transition year for the offense and if it had'nt been for the surprise emergence of Miles Austin, this team would not have made the playoffs...the kid was that good this year...the Cowboys can be one game better next year with a full season from him and that could buy them a first round bye...you usually need 12 or more wins to get one...it just took the defense a while to come together as a group...the really important question has to do with Roy Williams...they got next to nothing from him this year...Marion Barber is another player at the crossroads...it's probably time to return him to the role of closer, where he earned his claim to fame...Jones and Choice should be given a chance to shine...

Don't bring logic into the conversation, please. It kills the agenda momentum. ;)

I might have to question that particular characterization. Bill is no doubt a great team builder and I appreciate the team he built here. But as far as actually coaching the game well and forming a cohesive team, he did nothing of the sort.

I loved him here, but the game moved on and his brand of football didn't.

I don't pick one over the other, he did his part and Wade is doing his. One is just better at one thing than the other. Wade is doing a great job of putting together winning seasons and forming a good team environment, with Bills foundation. I'm glad we had/have them both.

Because of this board when I see cowboys' fans on the street I make a point to avoid all contact.

I now assume they are all whiney wishy washy little *****es who cry for years about a playoff game, and then now say it wasn't enough.

I get why other fans hate us, we are embarrassing.

Who ever said that winning one playoff game over the last 13 years would be enough?

Heck, even the Commanders have won 2 or 3 playoff games the last decade.

Granted, getting a playoff win is much better than still not having one. But who said they'd be satisfied with one playoff win?
