I don't agree with the Romo selection

He's benefitting from a down-in-the-mouth year for NFC QBs. No one disputes that.

I'm not going to jump on you for your opinion on T.R.

BUT ELLY????????
GIVE ME A FRIGGIN BREAK.

NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:bang2:

Is he? He's the second highest rated QB in the entire NFL, and look at his record as a starter and the percentage of drives that end up in points.

No, I think he actually deserves it regardless.

He probably would have been close to making for any other year. It would be a close call and depend on the year. For example, he probably would have made it the last two years, but definitely not 2003.

Yeah Eli, Mike Vick and Rex Grossman should all start.

What were the voters thinking.

The NFC can run a 3 QB set with these greats.

Ah, cmon now. At least deal with what my original argument was, EVEN THOUGH THE MORE I'VE LOOKED AT IT, I PROBABLY NEED TO RETRACT ;).

I wasn't saying start. I was talking about the 3rd choice and how it should be the best full-time starter left. But the more I've looked at it, the more I don't take issue with what they did.

Before you jump on me, please hear me in context.

1. Tony Romo has played outstanding football
2. Without Tony Romo we would not be in the position we are in, PERIOD.
3. If Tony Romo had played the entire season as his current level, he is a pro bowler hands down.

But, to me, this represents what I have come to hate about the modern NFL. It is a stat driven, popularity driven, personality driven, league that evaluates players in a superficial way.

Does anyone realize that David Carr is in the top half of QB's in QB rating? Have you watched David Carr play? The guy probably won't be back in Houston next year.

Stats can lie, ESPECIALLY at the QB position.

In this case, Romo's stats aren't a lie. He has played fantastic. But how do you put a guy in the pro bowl who has barely played HALF A SEASON????

I'm proud we have a Dallas Cowboys player going at that position.
I'm proud we seem to have a legitimate QB in Dallas again.
I'm proud of what he has done for our football team.

But I don't agree with this choice, this year. Ok, destroy me :) :)

String him up! And git his horse tew!!!

I don't disagree with you, David, about their perfomances, and after looking at the possible choices more than I had, like I said, I can see why they were forced to go with an 8 start guy.

and remember its 8 starts today...it'll be 10 in 2 weeks...thats most of the season, including how ever many playoff games we play

I think he is well deserving of it...not just compared to the other QB's, but you also have to factor in that we had no chance in hell of being a playoff team with the guy who started in week one

David

I think Romo is better than Bulger any day.

Someone do the hated math that I'm too lazy to calculate, what win percentage comes from a 6-2 record?

I disagree...Romo deserves it...who should go fromt he NFC? The reason the AFC keeps winning is because they have all the freakin' QB's...the NFC sucks at the most important position...I don't see how Romo couldn't make it with what he's done.

Romo is in because McNabb is injured. It seems quite simple to me. I agree with that scenario.

Compare Romo's short season with McNabb's short season and see if you still think McNabb would deserve it over Romo.

I disagree with the assumption that if McNabb were healthy he would be chosen over Romo.

I think Romo's passer ratings got him the vote ,not just because McNabb is out.

McNabb was being talked about as an MVP when healthy.

And in N.Y. Elly was expected to be the second coming.
Guess what??

ESPN NUT HUGGERS IS ALL IT IS. IF ESPN SAYS YOUR A GOD, YOU MAKE IT IN, IF THEY SAY YOU SUCK YOU DON'T.

Grossman doens't have 3-4 bad bad bad bad games he makes the pro-bowl w/ ease. Espn had early love stories w/ Grossman, then Vick, then to Romo.

still holding out hope that Henson wins the starting job are we not?

:lmao: j/k rcaldw

but to your post, Romo deserves to be in, because even though he's only played a little more than half the season to date, in that time he's been one of the top QBs in the NFC, you have to reward him w/ a Pro Bowl spot

and it's not like Romo was chosen ahead of more worthy candidates

Not really. He started out that way, but the Eagles had started losing and were about to lose to the Titans before he got hurt. I think they were 5-5 when he got hurt. Anyway, the Eagles are better now with Garcia, so that shows me something that I have known all along. McNabb is overrated. Three years ago Feeley came in and the team did better, and this year Garcia is doing the same.

McNabb is a system QB who isn't even the best QB on his team at running the system.

NFC QB's suck, Romo deserved to get in over the other crap QB's in the NFL. If Mcnabb would have been healthy then he would have made it over Romo but hes the only who would have deserved it over romo
