I don't agree with the Romo selection

For the record, I think Romo deserved his selection. As others have said, there just isn't any other option. Eli? He's been exposed. With the weapons he has there is no way he should be putting up such ugly numbers. Grossman? Please. Please. Anybody who says Grossman, *** are you thinking? Vick? Maybe... maybe. McNabb hasn't played in weeks and can't play in the bowl. Romo is fresh in fan's minds, McNabb is on the shelf for now.

There were alot of Probowl selections that were bunk. Boldin and Driver? Not sure if Mack Strong was the right choice. Julian Peterson got in on name only, IMO. DeAngelo Hall - no way. I agree that Newman should have made it over him, among others. Not so sure Roy Williams should be in there, but the NFC is weak at SS these days.

It will be interesting to see how Romo reacts to his selection. Does he lose his "have something to prove" edge? Will it be harder to extend his contract?

if you look at the games they started and finished, here's how it averages out per game. In other words, I didn't include McNabb's numbers from the Tenn game or Romo's from the 1st Giants game.

McNabb:
19 for 34, 285 yds, 2.0 TDs, 0.6 Int
3.6 Rushes for 24 yds & 0.3 TDs
1 field vomit

Romo:
21 for 31, 272 yds, 1.6 TDs, 0.9 Int
2.9 rushes for 4.4 yards & 0 TDs
0 field vomits

Well, first off, I only have to name 1, since Brees and Bulger are already on the team.

Second, I just think you have to go with a guy who has been the starter for the vast majority of the season.

So, I would say Eli Manning or Michael Vick.

AND PLEASE HEAR ME. Romo has outplayed BOTH of them. And I WOULDN'T TRADE ROMO FOR EITHER OF THEM.

So, again, I don't want to be misunderstood. I'm a Romo fan.

I just don't think you can give it to a guy who has started 8 of his teams 14 games.

you sound like the guy in your profile picture!

he has been excellent, he has saved our season, he is our future

he deserves the trip.

I hear you, RW. When I heard Romo made the Pro-Bowl yesterday, I initially thought to myself ,"Great! But hasn't he only played 8 games?" Then you look at the rest of the QB field the NFC has to offer (and factoring in injuries) and you can see why he was selected. I think he deserves it based on his winning percentage as starter and had he played in 14 games, I think his QB rating would be close to the same as it is after only 8 games. But your question about what the minimum # of games a player has to play before being considered for the Pro Bowl is a good one. In this case, I guess it's 8. I wonder if anyone knows about someone being selected to the Pro-Bowl after playing in 7 or less games?

Mack Strong is amazing, he and Lorenzo Neal are the last remaining reminders of an old fashioned blocking and catching fullback of the Daryl Johnston or Tom Rathman mold.

There are a couple others of that mold. Jim Finn of the Giants has had a good year and the team is running well. Tony Richardson of the Vikings is good. The Seahawk's running game has struggled a bit this year and that's why I'm on the fence with Strong. There isn't any clear cut winner, so I'm not knocking the selection.
