I have good news and bad news

The Cowboys will win their division and get into the playoffs (they'll be the fourth seed) because Dak Prescott owns NFC East opponents like no other Cowboy quarterback ever but that's all they're going to do is get into the playoffs. They'll end up playing either Minnesota, Greenbay, Seattle, or San Fransico at home and I'm not so sure they can beat any of those teams.

If Dak is the leader that most on this board think he is, they won't collapse.

That's just my opinion. The defense on the other hand. I don't know if there is an adequate leader on that side to keep them together.

For the record, I don't see "collapse" coming either. These players won't quit. But it may not matter, as the coaching staff may put them in bad enough situations to ruin things anyway.

As far as a defensive leader? I'd say through his play on the field, it would be D-Law. Running his mouth off the field? Not so much. But if I had to pick someone who epitomizes the drive that you look for on the field, it's him.

I have Dallas 9-7 or 8 and 8 moving forward. So unless the Eagles are the same. I don't see any playoffs coming. Just MO by the way.

As inconsistent as they have been playing I would be very happy with the playoffs at this point. With Garrett as the coach did anyone really expect a SB . Im happy we have progressed to making the playoffs it feels better than 8-8

I'm also not sure they can't beat any of those teams. Clearly they could have beat Minnesota, and while the others have strong records, they haven't been steamrolling opponents
(in fairness, SF was earlier in the year, but not in recent weeks). And conversely, the Cowboys have not been getting steamrolled by anyone.

That's not to say I think the odds would be with the Cowboys against those teams. As things sit today, they would all be favored over the Cowboys. I think the key is whether the Cowboys could muster enough of a defense to give themselves a chance.

Yeah, I am not sure they are winning the division. I think there is a small chance that game in Philly might not matter if we don't pull our heads from our butts.

Philly could win one of the next two meaning they would be 9-5 by that game in Philly. With the way we are playing, we could easily lose three of the next 5 games - @ Detroit, @ NE, Bills, @ Bears, Rams. If that happens, we'd be 7-7 at that point and even beating Philly wouldn't help us unless Philly sucks the last week against the Giants, which wouldn't happen.

I need to see something big from this team in Detroit on Sunday. If they spit the bit and lose, I suspect my scenario above may in fact play out.

Besides beating Detroit I need to see this team make adjustments to beat the patriots.

I think they can beat all of those teams IF ... the running game and the offensive line dominate like their talent suggest they should.
I am incredibly disappointed in this offensive line. We should be taking over games, but we're letting guys blow past us, blowing up our running plays.
We also need to start fast. Against Minnesota and Green Bay, we had the ball first and failed to score a touchdown, then quickly fell behind, which took us out of our game plan.
We need to start fast and end fast. But we have the offensive talent to compete with all of those teams. This team should be stronger on offense than defense anyway. When we get in the playoffs, we're going to have to show it.

I like our chances against Kirk and Jimmy...

gonna be one helluva ride.
I think if this team wins the East....and I believe they will....they're gonna turn the tables over in the NFC play-offs.
this team seems to thrive with a chip on its shoulder and feelin' like they have something to prove.
5-4 and a disappointing loss to minnesota is a helluva chip.

We're not going anywhere in this year's NFC playoffs. Out of the "big 4" - SF, Green Bay, Minnesota, and New Orleans (with Seattle making it a big 5?), we've played 3 and gone 0-3 against them. Basically, we're going to most likely lose in the WC round of the NFC if we make it, and even if we win that round, we're not getting out of the divisional.

Just enjoy the wins from this point, and don't sweat the losses. Every L we take gets us one step closer to firing Garrett, and I really think this is the year he will go.

This was the limit for thie team this season anyway. More wasnt expected and less is not suprising.

I'm glad that you think these Cowboys will still win the NFC East. It seems a sentiment I don't share at this point. I did about a month ago when they beat Philly, and thought the Eagles would have collapsed after that. But from the looks of it, the Eagles have gotten their act together while we look like that team ripe for a collapse.
That's where I'm at.

DET is an absolute must win game now.

Dak owning the NFC East will mean nothing if we can't win the other games...
We need to worry about our team right and how we're going to avoid an implode and how to win regular season games rather than trying to go the playoffs.
That's just like him being the best quarterback in the league and all those great stats if we don't win it doesn't mean crap

I'm finding it difficult to "like" any of your posts while you have those SNF graphics as your signature.

..if yer right and they get that far. They will be dangerous. Meaning they figured something out. But looking at it plain n sober. 8-8 might be the deal.
