I did not expect a complete shut out. Not even a Jeremy Mincey to be had.Your own fault for getting your hopes up. You should know better.
Until we can find some legitimate talent of our own on defense, no free agents are going to band aid us to a Super Bowl.
I wonder why we have failed for so long finding our own on defense? Thank goodness this is finally the one year all that changes.
Surprise!!!I did not expect a complete shut out.
Man. Y'all got so eerily quiet. Could it be because our front office is executing their plan?
Did anyone actually jump or have you all backed off of the ledges now?
Terrance Williams and Bruce Butler resigned.. This keeps our WR corps largely in tact with the added bonus of having JWitt back for one more year. Look for Dak to excel with the likes of a healthy Dez, Cole, and TWill back in the saddle.
Nolan Carroll marks the beginning of the process of reimagining our secondary and he comes with a friendly FA deal. I love it.
Paea bolsters our DL rotation nicely... A very active pass rush specialist that will bring pressure up the middle. Love it!
The building blocks are beginning to fall into place.. (as expected)
Luv y'all even though some of you can be a little schizo at times.
I love it when a plan comes together. It's not together yet but I like the early indicators. We don't agree on everything but you're on point in this thread.
So these signings make us better than last year? Paea hasn't been very good in the past couple of years, Carrol re-imaging our secondary? Really? I guess you'll tell us how everyone selected in the draft will be a stud and day 1 starter, making this defense SB caliber. I don't disagree that we shouldn't be making a splash in FA, but you don't replace marginal players with less than marginal players and get better.Man. Y'all got so eerily quiet. Stephen Jones has repeatedly said what he is going to do,i dont think anybody should be surprised now or in the future.IN the long run it may be a good strategy but it wont help us us get to the playoffs and win now.
All part of the strategy sir and it is just beginning to take flight. You, along with many others that were more vocal earlier in the thread, felt as though all was lost because we didn't participate in the day one fire sale. Well.. As noted.. We are participating now. Keep your eyes peeled. They will eventually make even you proud of our reimagined defense. So these signings make us better than last year? 21 to be exact..."The process" has had us with 20 years of no superbowl wins. When was the last time we were even in the conference championship? This FA is playing out pretty much how we thought it would. Let a lot of our talent walk and sign marginal players off of other teams. The Terrance William signing for his contract was a solid one. I'll give the FO props for that. Now they need to bring Claiborne back for maybe 3 years on a lower-priced contract.
21 to be exact...
It's really time for us to let that 21 year drought talk go. We've seen so much in terms of good times from our franchise over the years. We just have to trust that these incremental improvements that have been happening every single year will amount to reaching the pinnacle soon. I have faith we're close. Just have to fix the D which we've begun to do. I just fail to comprehend how anyone that watched our defense barely tread water and get carried by our offense over the past year or so has any issue with a real reimagining of our defensive set, personnel, and philosophy. Marinelli is going to get to grocery shop and I think he will help the powers that be select some outstanding groceries. Sue me for being optimistic.
