Gallup contract is nowhere near Cooper's...look at next year's cap numbers. Without trading Cooper we likely don't have the money to add Barr, Fowler, and Peters. We could have done things to lower Coopers cost short term but would have lead to more dead money down the road.

i didn’t say his contract is anywhere near amaris, but it’s obviously more than ceedees rookie deal and is the proper comparison. and we could have made all those moves by not tagging schulz. but 6-2 it is what it is

So ask yourself, given the decision of Schultz or Coop who would Dak choose

Only thing i hated was losing Cooper for a late draft choice. Cowboys needed the cap space as they were over the cap heading into March.

Oh, to be a Cowboys WR these days. Even have your fellow teammates on the recruiting trail for Beckham. Bet that makes them feel really special.

Is the problem, if there is a problem at 6-2, the WR's? How much of a difference is an oft injured 30 year old WR going to make?

I get why Booger wants him, additional media coverage, so he'll milk this as long as he can but if I were Beckham, I might be looking at SF, MIN or SEA where they have a more established WR1. He cannot handle that role this season. Playing on teams with Jefferson, and a newly added Hockerson, or Metcalf would not put as much strain on him because he's going to get the magnifying glass in Dallas. I dunno, maybe he wants that.

Being from New Orleans, LA, I know how good Odell Beckman Jr. was at Newman, LSU, and the NFL.

However, he is coming off his second serious knee injury and 3rd leg injury. Now fans want Odell after Jerry Dumbo GM Jones had a WR that has has been more productive, healthier, and proved he can turn a team fortunes around in Amari Cooper. Jerry Dumbo GM Jones gave Cooooop away. At least the Giants got a no.1 and no.2 pick in 2019 for Odell. He gave away a healthy 2 legged multiple Pro Bowl WR for fans to jump on the hype train for a one legged WR that now must have the tag of injury prone.

I just do not get it. And, I will not drink to Kool Aid.

Yes this has been going on (the comparison) since Cooper's rookie year. The only difference is Cooper was a Dallas Cowboys and Odell never was and is not yet.

Your not the only one that just "doenst get it". NO big deal, I can explain it no problem:

-We had a window to get out on the 22 million per year Cooper deal. Had we kept him, it would have been 22 million per year for another 3 years
-We were able to resign Gallup for 12 million per year for 5 years. Essentially, Gallup can get the 900 yards and 7 TD's that Cooper got here
-We have a better, younger, cheaper #1 in lamb ready to take over as the lead dog. He is 15th in yards with basically Rush as his QB. He was 7th before the bye week.
-Cooper was oft injured and a poor mans #1. Not worth the money
-time to move on
-Needed that money to resign some key defensive players and other players in the next two years

Go look at Cooper's stats (for this year) and compare them to Ceedee. What do you see?

You lost on your 1st post with this, and lost me on this post with this.

At the moment, Jerry is looking pretty smart this year. Almost everything that the doubters have said Jerry did wrong has turned out to be spot on for Jerry. Even holding onto some money for the possibility of signing a guy like OBJ during the season if need be.

Lamb has a few more yards, more catches, 2 less TD's. I would say its about as even as it gets.

Cooper will get hurt soon and miss a few games and with Dak back, this should be Lambs race to lose down the 2nd half of the year.

Right, but some fans will not go by this. They already are set in their thinking no matter what.

The thing is, we are 6-2. And Cooper was not going to make us be 8-0. Or least odds are that he wouldn't.

They were dead wrong on all of it.

Collins, Steele, Cooper...............Wilson is a joke at this point. The youth movement has been a landslide success. Tyler Smith, young TE's, receivers, ect....ect.....

And lets not overlook the fact that the Cowboys are 6-2 and the Browns are 3-5. Both losing their starting QB.

Yep, that's my point. I don't think we've missed much with Cooper being gone.

With a little sprinkling of luck thanks to Randy's agent.
