I'm not much of a writer, but I've decided to tell everyone a little
about myself today.
I was raised in the Pleasanton Tx. area. I eventually married my longtime
girlfriend Helen in 2000. But in 2003 she was killed in a traffic accident
by a drunk driver in San Antonio. Defintely a bad time of life.
I hung around the area for a few years or so then decided to pack up, sell
everything and move. Right before I left I bought my pet cat "Meow-Meow" from
the shelter. She's been my traveling companion and friend all this time.
I love the little critter.
Eventually we settled in the Mansfield Tx. area. Nice quiet place-low humidity.
After a lot of odd jobs I found employment with the Security & Assc. company.
These days I mostly monitor closed circuit TVs, and CRT screens of numerous clients.
I call it "the Bat Cave" lol. Just keeping an eye out for the bad guy.
Of course I never lose fact of the fact that I'm on a football site.
Yes, I've been a fan of the Dallas Cowboys all my life.

My mother was the same way. "When you tell someone are going to be somewhere at a certain time, be there. It's your word, your trust, your reputation.".
When people are late with me... I simply have very little tolerance for it.

And I'm a very free-spirit, but she pounded that nail deep within my skull.

Man, Corso, that's it right there, brother. I'm a free-spirit as well, but being late hurts others, and that's what I try to avoid at all costs. Love your mom's quote, Cors. Bourdain's was very similar, too.

A little excited... Finished a huge project to it's stopping point, turned in the work to the proper channels and now I'm all a-jitter, thinking about new things to explore, research and write about.

I've already happily rejected my first 3 ideas... Breath of fresh air!

Like a weight lifted. Started out as the thing I knew was going to be something I'm going to be proud of, and I am, but it became a weight.
And this is just the beginning... hopefully. I think it will. I'll know November.

You and Trouty have got it right. My mom and dad pounded that same ideology into my head from an early age.
To this day I try to always be on time, and if for some reason I can't make the time I let someone know. I do not like to leave people hanging.
They also taught me that a man's word is everything. I still try to live by that. My mom also told me to always wear clean underwear in case I
had to go to the hospital. lol. :)
