no idea where dd has went?

no, this is a house near sf.
but the house has recurring rodent issues because there is a huge (1.5 ft) gap between outer wall and inside wall.

it is a recurring problem.
the rat noises go away after i put the cat food out.
then a few months later, rat noises come back.

Nothing for nothing but have you thought of what it would take to fix the 1.5 foot gap? I mean is the outer wall possibly done with siding that can be pulled and added to an outer wall flush with the 4inch 2x4's between the inner wall? Normally it is only 5/8inch fire resistant plywood between 4 inch studs and the inner wall..... The inner wall being 5/8inch drywall which is also fire resistant on the ceilings and 1/2 inch for inner walls.... Could this be a complete mistake of the contractor that built your dwelling?

Just asking because from what little I know of the builder, he should be tarred and feathered for leaving such a gap in between. In fact that is against building code in almost every state in the US..... I only say almost because I do not know every states building code but every one I lived in does not allow such......

God forbid I say sue the builder, but chances are you have a case......

operation catnip was once again re-initiated
starting from the road, piece of sardine, cat food and catnip spray was applied every 20 feet or so - all the way up to the house.
we shall see what happens in a month...

I am so sorry, I thought Operation Catnip was stealing Daboyz from Coach.....LOL

Now I learn it is not such or the idea you are the pied piper of rats and/or cats, it is mere rodent control of the dwelling.... I really do need to apologize for my assumptions.... Enjoy Cali as long as you can..... Forgive me, and hope you get such handled....

Mind you, while I am being sincere, I will still be picking on you again tomorrow... You're still my Putty Buddy either way..... :p

:lmao: :clap:That was awesome Ribblet. It's great seeing you back. @waldoputty would do the same every once in a while. Between the two of you, it's a tie. Your turn Putty.

Oh ok. Putty, the rat noises go away cuz the buggers are eating the cat food. When they're done eating, they make noise again. Maybe try putting down some rat poison. Only problem with that, when they take the food inside the walls, that's where they'll die. Leaving you stench for quite sometime.

I miss DD. :( Have a good weekend too Sweetheart. ;)

the gap is throughout the house. there are earthquake-resistant steel i-beams that define this gap.

Steel I-Beams? Do you live in a bomb shelter or commercial warehouse? I guess I haven't lived in earthquake country so things may very well be different in your neck of the woods....

there are steel i-beams every six feet from each other.
vertical, x and y.
bolted not welded.
it is very very rare
but gives me confidence during the last richter scale 6 quake

does bishop get between kitty and coachie at inopportune moments?

That is a negative Ghost Rider..... Far be it from me to assume I am close enough to give them pet names, but the only thing that may be inappropriate, would be the fact, I steal one's cable at times for porn. The only reason I feel awkward on the subject is because I was awfully loud one night doing such (mind you I had a visitor that night). I blame the loving woman and the fact she brought her own form of punishment for calling her that late for a booty call.... No one agreed on the cattle prod unless that was Ranching getting revenge without my knowledge....

BTW, if no one laughs their tail off on that one, I need to quit trying now..... That was one of my top responses....
