Please, let the hate go. It will make you rest easier at night.
WV Cowboy;3271160 said:Some of you need to see his post game interview, .. nothing but class.
You can say you don't like him, that's fine, .. but leave it at that.
When you try to come up with reasons that aren't there, you sound pathetic and small.
AMERICAS_FAN;3271139 said:No, Manning has only been portrayed as a class act, but it's evident now that he is not. So yes, NOW he gets THIS!
AND BY THE WAY...
This is not about the handshake per se, or his demeanor after losing the Super Bowl. It's more about his demeanor DURING THE GAME. As the Colts were being challenged, Manning sat there with sour grapes on his face, as early as THE THIRD QUARTER BEFORE THE GAME WAS OVER. Instead of being a leader, he actet like a LITTLE PRISS, looking down on his teammates. His team needed him to step us as the leader he is prtrayed to be. Instead, he PROVED to not be that player - when the going got tough, Manning FOLDED.
Doomsday101;3271159 said:It was not the spectacle it is now, I attended a SB for 35 dollars a ticket in 1976 good luck going to that game now. Back then you had 3 networks now you many more in the media who are covering the game it has grown over the years.
AMERICAS_FAN;3271175 said:If you weatched before the game ended and the interviews were held, then you would have seen Manning sitting on the bench with sour grapes on his face, as early as THE THIRD QUARTER BEFORE THE GAME WAS OVER, not liking how he was getting his head handed to him. Instead of being a leader, he actet like a LITTLE PRISS, looking down on and blaming his teammates. His team needed him to step us as the leader he is prtrayed to be. Instead, he PROVED to not be that player - when the going got tough, Manning FOLDED. But hey, great interview!
RW Hitman;3271193 said:sorry, I just did not see anything that would have me lose respect for Manning yesterday. I agree with him in saying it was the Saints time to shine and let them have the field.
I think it is just a little bit of whining to nitpick anything other than that out of it.
ShiningStar;3271184 said:Its big as in media coverage and any little thing you do is covered by camera and more talking heads than needed.
But the game itself is not bigger, its more of a shell of its former glory when it really meant something, now its an advertising giant thats looked at more for the dollar signs its represents compared to its spirit.
A lose back than hurt more than it does now.
birdwells1;3271128 said:I guess all of y'all supported LeBron when he walked off the court and sent Dwight Howard a text message later huh?
Peyton was pissed but he still should have shown some class and try to find some of the NO players, I mean it's only 53 of them.
Peyton choked in the biggest moment not only did he throw the pick 6, he threw 2 other passes that could have been intercepted during the final 3 minutes or so.
To have the stats that he has he should have more SB wins and apperances. Peyton has lost big games against SD twice, Pittsburgh, and now NO when his team were favored to win and the first 3 were at home. Not only did his team lose but he played bad or not up to his regular season standard.
The SB that he did win he wasn't outstanding against a taylor made opponent. I think if the Cowboys get past Seattle then we beat Chicago the next week. Chicago had to be one of the worst SB teams ever. Their offense was just putrid.
As of now Peyton is the best regular season QB to ever play but the postseason is where your reputation is cemented.
Remember that Tennessee didn't win a national championship until the season after Peyton went to the pros.

Doomsday101;3271199 said:True but the coveage helps create the bigger atmosphere than what is was like before. Not saying it is a good thing or bad although it is what puts the big money in the pockets of both owners and players so I'm sure they do not mind
ShiningStar;3271197 said:agreed, heres an opinion we might as well start taking up, people that lose that make it more important that THEY congratulate the winner. How many people hate those players?
just because you saw something on camera doesnt mean you know fully whats going on. the Sb in a word, HECTIC and you cant find everyone and Brees was probably to busy finding his family to care of Peyton found him.
Let it lie.
birdwells1;3271200 said:Sooo I guess Peyton gets a pass, huh. Boy if Romo throws that pick 6 and walks off the field with that concocted excuse he would have been blasted unmercifully. Again, did y'all say the same thing about LeBron?
Doomsday101;3271207 said:The simple fact that Manning talked with Brees afterwards is enough for me. Manning has shaken hands with other win or lose but in the hoopla following the SB I have no issue with Manning giving Brees a congratulation after the hoopla is over. Brees does not seem to have an issue with this why should anyone else.
ShiningStar;3271206 said:and still we long for the good ol games. I understand what ya saying and agree, but lets face it the SB back than to today, those were games with players that wanted to be there and not thinking about the check after the game or a league that cared of if they made the season.
Couple more years we'll be saying 'remember when they hit the other players"
The funny part is we are seeing how the money is ruining the game and the coverage is getting annoying, see this thread, and the question still remains, why are rookies paid so much".
And now the SB is being analyzed and psychologically evaluated and you know what, the Colts still lost. You know why, to that theory I still bring up, the Saints scored more points.
