I'm surprised the boys are doing better than I thought.

When you calm down for a second and think about it, are you really surprised by this team turning what was a prime spot to score the winning TD from the 6 yard line into a desperation last second play that comes up 5 yards short?

For most fanbases, what happened there at the end would probably stun some fanbases. But it shouldn't surprise ours. We live for moments like that. We thrive in incompetence in moments like that. It takes a special level of undiscipined, inept, stupid play to blow a 1st and goal from the 6 yard line with more than enough time to score and the game on the line. Roles reverses, does anyone doubt that Philly wouldn't have scored on us in that situation? Of course they would have. They aren't as dumb a team as we are.

A false start. Then your RT gets whipped to be compounded by your vet QB deciding not to chuck the ball away and live for the next 3 plays from the 11. Then chaos sets in and your QB costs you 5 more yards on a delay, to then not throw into the endzone, but rather short of it........... by 5 yards......... as the clock runs out.

If you had told a fan of another team that's how they lost a game, they'd say you made it up. You tell a Cowboys fan that's how they lost a winnable game against a good team, and pretty much all of us would say, "Yeah, that sounds about right............."
I WAS WAITING FOR A POST LIKE THIS!!!!! Why does it always seem like we lose in the most stupid ways, how many teams would have had a TE score inches short of the end zone, or a QB that doesn't have the sense to know where the end zone is and go out of bounds it baffles me!!! O line makes dumb mistakes as usual either holding or false start, but then being abused by the defense when you were decent during the game. We wait until the end to make stupid mistakes

You have to hand it to the Eagles. Six of their nine games thus far have been decided by 7 pts. or less; of those, they've won five (their 20-14 loss to the Jets being the aberration). They are way more than likely to win those games, having developed a collective confidence to do so.

The Cowboys have now played only two games decided by one score, and sit at 1-1 (Chargers, Eagles).

When DAL finds themselves in an end-of-game situation like last night, "chaos" - rather than "focus" - becomes the order of the day. We've seen it time and time again during the Dak era. It used to be just him with the "deer-in-the-headlights" look when the game is on the line; it's now seemingly affecting the performance of everyone around him.

With each failure, the pressure mounts, making the next meltdown more likely. That cycle could have been broken last night. Instead, another bundle of sticks has been thrown under the stake the Cowboys will be roasted on this coming week.

This team doesn't need new players or coaches. It needs a top-notch sports psychologist.
Great post.

Not surprised at all. Was hopeful at the beginning of the season, but now we see they are the same old Cowboys. Will beat up on weak Div 2 level teams and get everyone thinking they are SB bound, then flop against the teams who actually are the upper level in the NFL-----which is not saying much because right now the NFC is so dammm weak. And the Cowboys can still not even be at that level; which is pretty sad. Oh well, at least Goodell did them a favor and get to beat up on the Midgets this week to gain some hollow confidence. Yeah...BABY...... :flagwave:

But unfortunately, we know where this train is headed before it derails.

Of course. Eagles run the ball and can control the clock, especially at the end of games when you really need to. We cannot.

The Dallas Cowboys are an inconsistent, undisciplined football team with no situational awareness. We have seen this time and time again.

Funny, the conspiracy crew has been quite on two non-calls that benefitted against the Giants: contact to the head against Fowler and holding by Tyron on Dak’s TD run.

Nah, these hypocrites will keep their mouths shut.

This is the typical Cowboys of nearly 30 years. They are not built to win. Don't you think if maybe the FO had actually DID SOMETHING before the trade deadline, that could have tilted a close game into a victory? Like maybe actually trade for an RB... or maybe not burn that 2nd rounder on a TE.

No matter what we do, change coaches, change qbs, it's the same result over and over and over again. No compilation of talent has been good enough to overcome the front office. That's an impressive feat.
That's it really, the front office is incapable and/or unwilling to go the extra mile to build a complete team. When they have a great offense they have a horrible defense that lets a one legged Aaron Rogers school them. When they have a playoff quality defense they have an under-powered OL and a panicky QB. It will be a cold day in hell when this team has a dominant OL and DL ath the same time. We might not see another great OL ever!
