Twitter: I miss Jimmy Johnson

Watching the Cowboys against the 49ers in the playoffs they didn’t have an ounce of swagger. They were intimidated.

Scared little female dogs.
And a direct reflection on the coach and his offensive and defensive captains.

Couldn't walk the walk after talkin the talk.

And haven't been able to and will continue to not be able to.

True colors revealed.

McCarthy went as far as to admit the team was nervous. It was pretty obvious on the 49ers first possession we were intimidated.

We were lucky to have had him. Imagine if Jerry's first choice had been Barry Switzer?
Yep I do.....he would not be able to sell his act this long.....and wouldn't have decided it was so easy that he could easily do it himself.

I often ask myself if I would trade the early 90s for a different situation now.

It's been a no for quite some time but it's beginning to get to where this is too much of a price.

Sorry, nothing tops McCarthy at training camp last year.

That was the greatest speech I've ever heard from a coach in any sport.

Where is Jimmy even from? Ours is from Greenfield Avenue Pittsburgh, Pa. 15217.
That's always good for a laugh.

Doesn't matter where he is from.

Really, does anyone see McCarthys prints all over this team??

Hes nothing more than another human to stand on the sidelines because Jerry can't get away with that.

Jerry wants his coordinators and a paper mache HC and everyone in that locker room knows it....and if they didn't, #90 will tell them.

Still wondering why we can't win though.

Jason Garrett had many speeches about swagger as well as mental toughness, relentless spirit and of course "the process." Do we miss him too? :muttley: All Cowboy fans miss the 90's and Jimmy had a lot to do with that but I also remember his Miami Dolphins teams with a faded Marino. Your only as good as your talent and I doubt a Herschel Walker type trade ever happens again.

He was the right man for the job at the right time; however, I wish he would have come along after Booger had to sell the team. Because Jimmy Johnson is the reason he didn't have to sell it. Want proof? Team with Johnson? Team once Johnson's players are gone and for the last 25 years.

That turnaround and emerging dynasty saved Booger because he was leveraged in there and could not have lasted and would have had trouble finding backers with his track record.

Jimmy turns 80 next year.

And our fool of an owner hasn't even put him in the ROH.

Those were great days...he was the perfect coach for those young Cowboys. Miss the swagger and how unapologetic he was.......divorced his wife because football came first in Dallas.....glad he left the NFL when he did though, he seems much happier and content now.

Good point. They look flat and unprepared. Jimmy always had his team ready to play.

They were playing at home against a team they were favored against and McCarthy claimed the team was nervous. lol Never heard of coach make a comment like that before. He then attempted to backtrack after saying it. Jimmy instilled confidence in his teams McCarthy clearly doesn’t.

The story Jimmy tells about the phone conversation he had with Troy fall of 94 where "coach Jones" was showing up at every practice in full coaching gear and whistle tells you everything you need to know where this whole thing was headed.
