Even after what he did against the Saints?
The man stumbled man he slipped it happens he got the turf got him you know the turf monster but he made that effort to get back on that fumble so I'm not sure you could say he's better but don't blame him for one bad play that he really didn't have control over he stumbled I mean he's an accident you're you're going full speed you miss a step and yeah it is it sucks it sucked really bad because I think it really just burned out our chances of making a comeback right there that swing was way too big.. But I did like his effort getting back on that fumble and he was open so yeah you never know I mean this is a interesting debate that we can't really know who's right until we see it more..

The catch and that hustle to recover the fumble was top notch. He's okay in my book now.

Tolbert and Schoonmaker are works in progress who should improve with added development. Evidently, it likely bodes well for them. :flagwave:

Yes. People still liked Tolbert after lining up wrong even when the refs tried to help him and not actually producing for a year+ then preaching patience, so why not? People are not outraged by still having Leupke taking up a roster spot after fumbling at the goal line last year, so why not? Yet folks want to bench a kid with potential for one mistake? Maybe wait for a pattern before you decide he just doesn't have it.

LOL. I love how when we get blown out 1 or 2 calls could have been the difference to make up those 25 points when the defense put up zero resistance. Did anyone find some calls for the Green Bay game? I can't remember.
I honestly have to fight with myself at times. GB was just... there's nothing there, but THIS game, despite getting blown out, was still competitive early and seemingly got out of hand when there were some calls/non-calls that could have changed momentum. The overall showing says otherwise, and I'm ok with that. But I do still wonder and did notice.

I'm not sure the thought process has moved to benching Brooks but all of us who have been around football more than 10 minutes know how this works with young players. They only get one or two times to author a crucial mistake and they disappear from the gameplan until they either regain the coaches trust or other guys screw up even worse. With that said I think Turpin has had a drop in two straight games now so I am starting to worry about him too. His speed at receiver is just what this offense needs.. but if he won't catch the ball it's not going to do us any good. The Saints schemed Shaheed deep a couple of times.. Hell the TD was against 2-high safeties and he just split 'em because both were late to turn and run. The Cowboys need to try that with Turpin at least once per half. Something I have been saying for years.. Scare the bejeesus outta the defense and get them to back off. Instead of letting them have 11 guys within 5 yards of the ball because we refuse to test them deep.

The Cowboys are settling into the old pattern of FG exhibitions. A guy like Ryan Flournoy seemed physical and fight for the pass in pre season. Right now Dak needs weapons he can count on to move the chains , Get him off the shelf and play him .

He's a rook.. unfortunately for late round rooks it's very much a "wait your turn" league. Had he been a 1st or 2nd rounder we'd already be seeing him in the rotation. That's just the way it is man.. you know that. But the receivers were not the problem against the Saints.. well their receivers were because they were torching our defense.. but not ours! LOL!

I got to see more out of “ late round “ Jalen Brooks to justify keeping him in the lineup over “ late round “ Flournoy . So far I haven’t seen it .

I mentioned this in another thread but it deserves its own. That catch on the longball was ridiculous. DB draped all over him straight up interfering and he comes down with it. He had a step on the DB and when Dak didn't get enough on it came back to the ball. That was bigtime. We might be seeing the emergence of a longtime #2 to CeeDee. Like Drew Pearson and Tony Hill.
Yes indeed! He had his best game as a pro. The kid has game.

When I think of the Cowboy weapons maybe I’m biased but Dak does not lack for wideouts and tight ends to move the ball . And truth be told I may be the only one on the forum to believe this but if you feature Dowdle at RB and quit the Deuce between the tackles …you can move the ball .

The thing is the Cowboys moved the ball just fine.. They just got cute in the red zone too much.. I don't know if it was Dak changing the plays or McCarthy wanting to show the world that we could score in the red zone using Rico and Deuce.. but the red zone play calling left much to be desired. As did the personnel groups we used.
