Hes is NOT taking Coopers spot. He here's to develop and be a starter some day. Not that I'm saying it will happen, but that's the plan. It has to be.

Roy, don't squirrel up now. Just be glad that there will be no more pampering of your hero, dak. He might ought to bring his A game and especially when it counts. I wish him luck.

He’s not likely to see the field enough this year to even consider moving on from Dak. And he’s still very raw. He some talent but he hasn’t played much football in his college or pro career. Barring injury he may get some gadget snaps but his real chance to show something likely won’t come till camp next year

He has played so little that it may take that long. But he has a big arm, very mobile and physical. Certainly worth a 4th rnd pick to see if he can develop

Love the trade. It gives us the perfect developmental guy with talent for cheap.

This is EXACTLY what you want for a #3 guy. Our QB room is complete now.

Top 10 starter, savvy veteran with experience in the system at 2, talented young developmental guy at 3.
 
Rush can be cut next year for almost no cap hit, so there likely is a competition between them. Lance will get thisnyear to learn the offense.

I doubt they would disagree about right now but he wasn’t acquired for right now. He’s very raw and that alone means we won’t know what he’s capable of anytime soon

Rush is a very smart guy so he can be a good teacher. Lance has the one thing rush lacks to be an nfl QB, an arm. And he has a cannon but he needs to learn a lot about being a QB. He just hasn’t played much football. He may or may not pan out but a 4th is worth the risk I think. Even if he just became a solid backup it’s a steal

Teams don't spend a lot of resources on 3rd string QBs for them to learn the offense.
