I think it's time to throw Rush in and see what is there

How did Aikman due his 1st & 2nd year? 18 INT's back to back, almost traded.. He doesn't have his Jimmy J. Yet so I'd appreciate it if you all ease off his F ing back!!

Everyone can say what they want but Romo never had stretches of bad games like Dak has now had. There have been several knocks on Dak that the dominant line and run game obviously covered up.

I think it's time to throw Rush in and see what is there. Best case? He plays well and you move forward with him. Worst case? You prepare to trade up in the draft.

At some point Garrett is going to start thinking about saving his job.
please

So are we going to pretend that Romo was great in this offense year in and out? Because aside from '07 and '14....I don't recall many great years in this offense.
We were 8-8 for a reason. Bad coaching, bad players and as much as Romo entertained us all and made us relevant he wasn't perfect. That's the only problem I have with his fandom. They make him seem better than he was. He made lots of mistakes as QB. And in the end we won nothing with him. Sad but true.

Romo never had a stretch of games like Dak did last season either.

Cooper Rush might give the offense a new spark? So the Dak experiment is over? The meritocracy that Romo spoke off prevails? I don't know, I'm asking.

We saw that last year. He inherited a great team and won 13 games.

So we have to ask ourselves what has changed this year. I think it's a combination of two things- the team around Dak has gotten considerably worse; and other teams have figured out Prescott on film.

It's on Dallas' coaches to adjust. And I don't think they can. Prescott's career is in danger of flaming out unless there's wholesale changes.
Let's see, where is this great team? Entire secondary except for maybe a couple of guys, GONE. 2 of our premiere linemen, gone.
As of now, 2 weeks ago. Missing 4 pro-bowlers...
Remember when Romo went down in 2015, our coaches didn't know what to do, just like now. I hate what Dak is doing right now, but in fairness to him, he was thrown in the fire first year when he was projected as the third stringer. You don't become a hall of famer within 20 games of your career, when coaching and everything around you sucks.
Again, I'm over Dak.

i am over Dak, but Rush is a guy who is MAYBE talented enough to hang in this league as a backup or 3rd string QB.

There is no sense in playing him over Dak unless you are trying to tank on purpose. He will not be good, 0 chance.

Not to mention how Aikman did when Emmitt Smith was in his contract dispute. Aikman had a SB ring at that point, and the offense struggled without Emmitt despite Jimmy being the head coach. Strangely, defenses didn't respect Derrick Lassic like Emmitt, the passing game struggled and Dallas went 0-2.

But apparently that didn't matter. Dak just sucks, all of a sudden, coincidentally when Zeke got suspended.

And how many more wins would "okay" get us? Because Dak was "okay" this whole year but the past 3 games.......which happen to be the games where the defense was just as bad as the offense...but a okay qb would've made up for that?

I am not judging Dak based on Wins. I don't subscribe to that nonsense.

I am judging on his performance.

I know alot of Niner fans & they are some pretty stupid fans. But tell me if this sounds familiar? Kap is the man we gonna win the Superbowl! Fast forward> bench him & release him! Gabbert is better put him in! >>> LMAO! Hoyer is gonna ball out like he did with Browns! Fast forward >>> Bench him put in the kid!!! The kid aka C.J Beathhard is going to be the next Dak.. well you all see how this will play out, is this starting to sound familiar around here???

Huge Dak fan here. You are not wrong.....

But in Dak's defense, Romo didn't even take a meaningful snap until his fourth season. Romo was allowed to develop a bit longer.

Prescott needs to play out the season. Leave him in adverse situations because it's the only way he's going to learn and improve.

problem with that is they might ruin the player by leaving him in there. Clearly he is in over his head right now. Realistically he should be on bench observing & learning. I still think Dak could one day be good QB but that might be several years away. I also think Dak has the shoulders to handle demotion.

Hard to imagine that it would be any worse

This coaching staff has ONE winning formula and it rides on having an elite running back and a perfectly healthy O-line and the offense will feed off of that. As soon as that formula no longer exists, we go into the gutter. We didn't get out of 8 and 8 land until we shored up the O-line and Murray had a historic year. If you think Rush will go out there and start lighting it up, you're deluding yourself. There's a reason why Weeden, Cassel and Moore all looked like carbon copies of each other and now Dak is starting to look like them or is looking like shades of Romo's worst and starting to throw tons more interceptions when he is trying to force the issue because we are behind. You notice how all of those Romo interceptions disappeared in 2014 when we had the dominant run game.

What!? You don't judge your qb based on wins? So as long as his stats look good that's all that matters?

Why would I? That is stupid. It's a team game, more than any other sport.

I look at the performance, not just stats.

Wins is a stat, a misassociated one at that. One of the worst measures of a QBs performance.
