I think it's time to throw Rush in and see what is there

People are just losing their minds.

8 games with Zeke: 28 points per game

3 games without Zeke: 7 points per game

Dak is, and will be, our QB. It doesn't matter if 100 flip out threads are created here.
Good post.

How did Aikman due his 1st & 2nd year? 18 INT's back to back, almost traded.. He doesn't have his Jimmy J. Yet so I'd appreciate it if you all ease off his F ing back!!

Yeah, then we changed OC's (got Norv) and things suddenly turned around.

Everyone can say what they want but Romo never had stretches of bad games like Dak has now had. There have been several knocks on Dak that the dominant line and run game obviously covered up.

I think it's time to throw Rush in and see what is there. Best case? He plays well and you move forward with him. Worst case? You prepare to trade up in the draft.

At some point Garrett is going to start thinking about saving his job.
imagine a wall, now me standing next to the wall and banging my head agains the wall....

this is probably the stupidest suggestion I have heard on this board to date.

STOP. Dak is the better QB. He's struggling do to poor scheme, play design and not having Zeke. This is a run first team. He's not a seasoned vet that had to deal with this yet. He's learning. Goff and Wentz went through this last year, Dak didn't. Not having Zeke on the field and no #1 WR that scares defenses, all we have is the short passing game that is easier to defend. Give this kid a better offensive scheme that uses his legs more and get a real deep threat, I think we'll see a much better Dak.

Show me 3 straight games were Romo played worse than Dak in his last 3 games. I'll wait.

Okay, you got it backwards. I said Romo did have a bad stretch like this.

What you quoted was a resppnse to someone claiming Romo never had a stretch as good as Dak last year.

There are bigger fixes to be made than replacing the QB. The coaching staff is culpable for the system wide failures to adapt to the adversities of a 16 game season.

Rush is not going to be thrown in there. Dak will be our QB next season. Both of those are good things, despite the ongoing panic.

As for Garrett, he's had ample opportunity. It's time for a change.
If I'm going to be cynical then Garrett keeps Dak in as long as he can because changing coaching staffs on a young QB is pretty tough. So as long as there is hope for Dak then he plays, if for no other reason because it makes the coaches jobs more secure.

Cooper Rush could have a Romo like career that starts next year if Dak simply isn't getting better, we aren't playing that well, and all bets are off for the coaches. Then you might see them put in Rush if they really feel like he is the better guy.

Start Rush and then he'll be in the same spot that Dak is currently once he struggles and then has fans calling for him to be benched for the next guy. Or saying that he is a bad QB worthy of being a starter. Just how it goes.

Why would I? That is stupid. It's a team game, more than any other sport.

I look at the performance, not just stats.

Wins is a stat, a misassociated one at that. One of the worst measures of a QBs performance.
I disagree....how many great qbs do you see with a bad win/loss record?

Better than who??? Surely not better than the guy who owns all the Cowboys passing records and kept a 4-12 team relevant when it shouldn’t have been. Not the guy who played with a punctured lung and a fractured back? Please dude it’s not even close. Anyone with an open mind can clearly see Romo was a far superior passer than Dak. Romo never went 3 straight games without a TD pass.

I guarantee you those 8 GMs that we’re polled about Dak/Wentz would all take Romo in his prime over Dak and twice on Sundays.

Cooper Rush is Matt Moore. You guys are easily impressed by preseason...should I go by what I saw from Rush in preseason or what I saw from Dak in the regular season?

Matt Moore was 21 for 29 with 1TD, 2 sacks and 2 lost fumbles in his preseason as a rookie. There's no comparison.

The original post is ludicrous of course; you would irrevocably damage Dak's confidence. But one week on the bench for him to get his head together isn't out of the question for me.

Plenty of great QBs have seasons with losing records.

When they have better teams, they tend to win. Funny how that works. The evidence is overwhelming.

Dak has struggled mightily in recent games. I'm just not sure how it would benefit him or the team to sit him down and play out the season with a guy who's even less experienced. Especially without Zeke. Throwing Rush to the wolves doesn't seem like it would accomplish anything.

At this point, unless Dak appears shell shocked to the point where he's going to irrevocably damaged you let him play his way through this slump. I think you'd learn a lot more about Dak by leaving him in than you would about Rush by putting him in.

It should be the other way around. If you have a true franchise QB, he's the most important person on the field. That doesn't mean that Zeke isn't a huge part of this offense or that the offense can't be driven by the running game. Right now, the only person on offense that should wear the red practice jersey is Zeke.

Romo isn't on this team right now. All I'm saying is Dak is better than Rush.
