I Think Jerry Is Going To Go Heavy Offense In The Offseason.

We should go with CB and a WR with our 2 #1 picks. This is a pass first league now. We better be prepared to pass and defend the pass. DMac would be great to have but I think a stud CB and a WR makes this team better for the current NFL.

Besides moss hates us. I think we would be better off with a younger player that could develup with Romo same goes for the HB I think Jerry would like to put another set of tripps in place. We will keep TO till he retires but how long does he have left in him? Fitz Romo and HB????

Yes but an all purpose back like McFadden would be good because he can run throw and catch. If not McFadden I hear Westbrook is going to hold out this off season.

I don't think some of you realize how many yards JuJo leaves on the field with his poor field vision and his inability to make a guy miss. What this offense is doing is amazing. When we add a better #1 option at RB....add some young speed at WR....the life of Romo will get better. The life of the defense will get better. The life of the OL will get better. Those elements are a must to compete with the BEST. We have to think about beating NE or Indy or whatever team is rising in the NFC. That is what NE did when they overhauled their WR corps. The did that to compete with the Colts. We used to do that in the 90s....the 49ers did that in the 90s....the Pack did that in the 90s...they all made moves with the elite teams in mind. We cannot make the mistake of extending old players. Especially old players with a history of injuries. We have to trust the scouts and coaching staff on these young OL we are developing. One of the youngins is gonna have to play...we cannot pay EVERYONE top dollar. The Colts pinned their Super Bowl dreams on a rookie LT. So it's not like elite teams don't take those kinds of chances. Leonard Davis might not be the best LT out there...but he is in a better organization...after having a dominant year he has regained his confidence....and I believe Jerry is going to let Flo walk knowing that if one of the young guys falters he can move Davis out there. This theory makes sense because of how much money Davis got. Don't panic.

We have to extend Newman, Ware and Barber. They are young, we drafted them, they have produeced and they have been virtually injury free. Lastly, bolster the secondary, WR corps, and interior lbers with speed and we are ready to run the table in the NFC much like Philly has for the next 5+ years. It can and will happen..just enjoy the ride and trust that with Jeff Ireland, Jerry will get it right

NE would be foolish not to re-sign Moss unless he wants a huge amount of money. We would only sign Moss if he wanted to be a Cowboy for reasonable money but why leave NE if he'll settle for reasonable money.

My first 3 picks on draft day would be for a CB/RB/WR in whatever order unless Jerry signs a speedy sure handed WR in FA who essentially replaces Glenn.

In a Madden World I could see Moss being a Cowboy... we had two chances... there wont be a third.... for multiple reasons

He wont jump to another team
We wont pay out for him
He and TO wont work

Etc

Do not believe Detroit will let Roy leave, but Fitzgerald will be wearing the star next season, or maybe Chad Johnson. Glenn and Julius will be gone.

Crayton may be resigned, because I do not think teams will come after him just yet, because they still don't believe.

Considering our O-line will probably send 3 guys to the probowl....

who?
adams, davis and colombo? I dont see that
Id be happy with two.

Others to make it - Romo, Witten, Owens

defense - maybe just Ware

Folk and McBriar have shots
Roy W could make it on reputation, but I dont see it this year
If Henry leads league in pix (he's just one behind) he could too

Hey Id be happy if you were right about 3 OL men making it

great post!!! I thought it was just me! I think one can just read between Jerry's talk to let you know how he is thinking. He knows he now has finally found his QB of the future (knowing how painful that process can be for him and any other team that is still looking) and he must build around him.

Actually you dont have to speculate because this type of information is already available. Check out dallascowboys.com and it will actually have an article for you that says that the Cowboys have 10 players that are leaders in fan voting for this years Pro Bowl. Thats includes Romo, T.O, Witten, Bigg Davis, Flozell Adams, Gurode, Ware, Roy Williams, McBriar, Folk, and Kieth Davis on Special Teams. Of course fan voting is only one-third of the voting process. Coaches have a third and players have a third. Now since their votes are not required until the middle of December, we are going to have to wait to see if Columbo will get in.

But check out the website some time. You might learn something.

Whichever WR we bring in, either through FA or the draft, he will need to have an extra step of speed to replace Glenn. We miss not having Glenn's speed on the field to help stretch things down the field right now.

one of the great points you make is how much better this team is actually able to be and it starts at running back. Now I am not one of these guys who are having orgasms over Mcfadden and dont believe you "pull a Dikta" to get him. Nah. Stay with Cleveland 15th-20th pick and pick up a guy like Rashard Choice out of Georgia Tech or Felix Jones, McFadden's back-up. I guarantee you any back we choose with that pick will be better than Julius. It occurred to me this season that if Julius doesnt have a highway to run through then he will not get very far. This is not a Julius bashing but its the truth. He simply does not fit this offense and the Cowboys know they can find them one with Cleveland's pick. Remember that Emmitt was the 17th pick. Moving on....Also I agree that Flozell Adams may be playing at a high level, your cap wont let you pay him. It is definitely time to allow some of these young guys to play. Thats why you drafted them and with this offense you dont need them to be dominate but at least serviceable to not be a liability. This team is simply awesome and Romo is engine that drives it! Jerry knows he MUST keep supplying him with the Best. I do not see Glenn nor Crayton backin the fold. The slot of Crayton's position can be replace oce he finds a young #2. WHo? Dont want to speculate but I see it having the wow factor....the bottom line is this is a very, very good offense that actually can get better without an overhaul. Romo allows Jerry to consider so many options.

if anything I will say the draft will be spent of a RB and OL with the first two picks. The WR will all want will be an establish guy who is very good. Replacing Adams, Glenn, Crayton, and Jones will be this biggest off-season story.

Check out the sticky post about probowl voting update. I think 10 Cowboys are leading at their respective postion. Flo, Andre and Bigg are all in 1st place at their positions.

Roy is WAY AHEAD in the SS voting, going to be a lock for him.

Considering Romo is in 2nd place behind Farve and Barbarion is in 2nd place behind Peterson, it looks like we are going to be sending 12-13 guys to the probowl.

Wow, I cant believe I just typed that.........A DOZEN PROBOWLERS:eek:

With as much as two first rounders will cost us, and with what it is going to take to sign veterans, I don't see Jerry keeping both first round picks. Remember TO is going to want a new contract this off season, besides all those mentioned above. I can see Jerry doing a number of creative deals with the first two picks. I think Jerry is stricken with the prospect of McFadden. I know he took one trip to watch McFadden play, and heard rumors he has sent several extra scouts to watch him. I think he could trade (1.)The two first rounders for McFadden and the other teams 2nd or 3rd round pick. (2.) Trade down one or both first rounds for a future first round picks plus extra later round picks this year. (3.) trade down an get more picks to try for some of the later WR's,RB's, and CB's. I think this draft is pretty deep in RB's that may make good NFL players.
By the way, sorry, but there is no way, Williams should be a pro-bowler this year.
