I want to see less Murray

We need to see more Murray not less if anything. Murray has been one of the few positives about the offense this year. Romo looks like he's not near 100% and can't carry the team.

Because Dunbar is a totally different back. He's a change of pace guy who is really good in open space.

I get that, but with the way Williams ran in space and caught the ball it was perfect if he (Dunbar) went down. Everything about Williams role was based on a lead back role, challenging Randle for carries.

If we keep running him like this he wont make it half the season...

I don't know what the word is on Joseph Randle but I would like to see more of him or get Ryan Williams out there and really have a good 1-2 punch.

I trust murray's management. Besides, the ball aint heavy. And he get results.

If he can't carry the load then he can't be resigned. I understand wanting to play it safe with Murray, but you can't give him special treatment if Jerry is even thinking about giving him an extension.

It's football anyway. He has just as good of a chance of being hurt on his 1st carry as his 30th.

Williams wasn't good in pass protection. That ain't good given the issues we have right now

Murray is on pace to have over 400 rushes this year. To put that in perspective (something lacking in your post), in the last 5 years, only one player has carried the ball more than 350 times in a season. Last year, the league leader in carries had 314.

It clearly is not "special treatment" to limit his carries to the 300 range for the year. That means, on average, about 20 a game.

I completely disagree. You can't limit a stud player because they have an injury history. If it's going to happen, it's going to happen. Ride them and hope for the best. Fact is, The Dallas Cowboys are 11-1 when Demarco Murray has 20 or more carries. That's a stat I'd be driving all the way to the playoffs with this Offensive Line. Especially when your QB is on an injury learning curve.

We should use Dez less. With his back problems he will never make it 16 games. Also Harris should play less special teams. Those are some violent collisions and he will not make it 16 games..........

Run Demarco as much as possible. IMO, you don't play as if you're going to make the post season. You play as if you're trying to get there and right now 25 to 30 carries has proved to be a winning formula.

Run him.
Run him often.

What are you saving him for?

Be smart. Run out if bounds before a big hit. Take it to the ground when not much more can be gained.

I disagree running him as much as possible. I'd rather see him get around 20 carries per and let Dunbar and Randall pick up the rest. Unless there is an absolute need to run Murray 25+ times per then it is better to be smart to prolong his season when possible.

And who plays fullback in short yardage?

Don't tell me a tight end because all they do is plug up the hole.

Murray in a single back formation. Let's keep a full back with played like crap the first 2 games both at FB and special teams.

Agree. If there is a stretch run to be had this year 3 of our last 4 games are outdoor potentially cold weather. If we can keep an extra 100+ rushes off him before then he will be better for them when we may really need to run him 30 times a game.

i suspect he would'nt have gotten all those carries had randle not been hurt. i expect around 20 per game though. thats still a nice workloard in todays game. as for dunbar it's way to early to judge how they se him. they want to throw to him out of the backfield but when you get behind those are'nt the plays you will see and when you are running at nearly 6 yards a pop no reason to change. he will get chances as the season goes on. still a very long season ahead of us. i do like williams alot but carrying 3 qb makes it tough to carry 4 rb's and randle is a very good special teams guy. if and when spencer comes back maybe we part with a dline guy. i think they like having a fb

I agree Murray got the ball on 9 carries in the last 2 drives as we were running the clock down. Considering Tenn was stacking the line we needed a physical back to pound the rock, something Dunbar isn't. I think Randle would have helped lighten the load had he not been shaken up.

I agree. As I am watching the game...it was Murray this Murray that. Does cowboys coaching staff know his guys history? A 30 carry game is good way to send him to IR. This is not A. Peterson back there. I get it that Murray looks great this year but they have Lance Dunbar on this team for a reason. And if Dallas doesn't trust him then moves Williams up ahead of him. I wouldn't be surprised if Murray looks less spirited the rest of year due to Tenn game.

Exactly. If he gets hurt than so be it. If he gets hurt getting 25 to 30 carries? Than no matter how you "save" him he'll get hurt eventually some time down the road. You play to win. There's no shortcuts.
