#3 shows #2 logic. Murray is leading the league in rushing without a FB. If you must have a FB a Clutts is not your guy

Some of those rushing yards are because of blocks from the fullback. When it's 4th-and-1, you need one.

Exactly. If he gets hurt than so be it. If he gets hurt getting 25 to 30 carries? Than no matter how you "save" him he'll get hurt eventually some time down the road. You play to win. There's no shortcuts.

That is not true. Fatigue can lead to injuries. Moving 5+ carries to the following week when he and the line are fully rested can make a huge difference.

Some of them?? Murray has 51 attempts which by your accounts Clutts has 8-10 plays so I would say Murray is doing just fine without the FB. Again if you want a FB on the roster find a real one who can block and play special teams

My point is......he can get out of bed wrong and get hurt. Did you see how Peanut Tillman got hurt on Sunday night? If we're scared of him getting hurt I just think that's the wrong way to go about it. I mean Sean Lee is a prime example of that.

I'll respectfully disagree with you. He looks to be having a career year and I think this team needs to ride it out with him and the running game as long as possible.

And I think Dunbar brings NOTHING to the running game and I felt the offense suffered every time Murray exited and he entered.

But, given the increased reliance on the running game, I'd have no problem bringing Williams up to the main roster if they could figure out the roster shuffling involved.

However, I'm not going to take carries from the best option for fear of injury.

I have no problem riding out the running game. I just want to see more of a timeshare until we play some NFC East games & and play some important games at the end of the year.

I feel good about some of the other guys coming in and getting the job done.

I think that if anyone is serious about putting Murray on a 'pitch count', the next thought needs to be finding a way to have Ryan Williams active on game days to help carry the load.

With Randle having a concussion, he might not be available and I haven't seen anything to suggest Dunbar is a viable option and nothing more than a niche player.

You want to go committee? You'd better figure out a way to have Williams active, and you'd also better be worried about him getting plucked from your practice squad at any time given the state of running backs around the league.

One way Williams will have to show as Randle has that he can play special teams, only 43 on game day roster if you are backing up you have to bring something to the table. I agree Dunbar is not a power back he has some very good quickness and I think there is a role the Cowboys have in mind for him but I don't see Dallas having 3 RB all similar to each other

Good lord.

He's not doing fine without the fullback on 4th-and-1 or on the goal line. You need a fullback for those situations, not 1st-and-10 on the 20.

I agree. down close by the endzone the safeties are no longer concerned about protecting deep and that 7 man front is now a 9 man to 10 man front. I think the FB someone who can lead block in those situations is important.

Willmans is on the practice squad. Who do you cut?

Weems. I'm sure the coaching staff values him quite a bit, but we could stash him on IR if he's still hurt and save him for next year.

good lord..I understand a FBs value, no Clutts has been my point. Go read your posts how you make it like Murray has had so much help from the FB which he hasn't .My point is Clutts sucks and shouldn't be on the roster. Go sign conner if you want a bulldozer blocking back.

If you need someone on 4th and 1 on the goal line then find 1 guy on this roster that can do that job.

A DT, LB, TE.. Someone. No need to burn a roster spot for a situation that may never happen.

Please tell me where Clutts sucked in the few plays he's been used. Looks like they got the first downs and touchdowns to me.

I agree we need to lessen the load somewhat. You don't want to run the guy into the ground and we also need to see what we have in some of these other runningbacks. The last thing we need is for Murray to get injured and then we have a bunch of rusty backups who haven't been in the game.

I feel better about Randle (once recovered), but don't see Dunbar as a viable option.

I wasn't impressed by Dunbar to say the least. I noticed a change in the blocking schemes and a decrease in effectiveness. Not impressed.

This will likely, or SHOULD anyway, be the last year Murray is on our team, so I don't see the logic in holding back on his carries. Run him into the ground and let someone else give him big money next year.
