I know everyone is always trying to get rid of him but he has done his job and has done it well!

I love 21 and I hope he comes back next year

I don't. Not if the price is too high and it means getting rid of Pollard. We need to keep Pollard more than Zeke.

I think this is the wrong use of the word "accomplished" in this context. Zeke has certainly accomplished more in the league than Pollard has by a country mile. More explosive? Certainly.. More effective? Perhaps.. at times but not against more stout defensive fronts. Check their respective outputs against the best defensive fronts we have faced.. Tampa, Philly and Washington. Which as you know are more like the type of fronts you're likely to see in the playoffs. In those three games Pollard went for 58 yards on 25 carries. In those same games Zeke had 183 yards on 42 carries. Again when you're talking playoff caliber fronts Zeke is your guy. Not a knock on TP.. he's great at what he do.. But against playoff defenses you need more meat and potatoes and less cherry pie with ice cream on top. The good news for Cowboys fans is we have both.. I see no reason to willingly surrender that advantage assuming the money can be worked out to everyone's satisfaction.

vs. ALL teams played so far this season

Pollard (14 games) 177 carries 969 yards 9 TD's 5.5 ypc

Zeke (12 games) 188 carries 774 yards 10 TD's 4.1 ypc

The tandem has paired well this season but keep in mind that in the 2 games Zeke missed due to injury, Pollard had 36 carries for 246 yards and 4 td's.

That all said, salary HAS to come into play for next season given Zeke is scheduled to count $16.7M against the cap while Pollard is an UFA who could command an AAV contract in the neighborhood of $9-$11M/year based on his performance this season and based on what other RB's are being paid.

So do you trade/release Zeke to save $5M in 2023 (or about $11M in 2023 if designated a post June 1st cap hit with $5.9M dead money in 2023 & 2024) and sign Pollard to a contract averaging $10M/year and pair him with a rookie draft pick or do you allow Pollard to test the market and potentially lose him???? The franchise tag for a RB in 2023 will be around $9.75M-$10M so......decisions decisions.

Yes you can.. you just can't pay both top dollar.

Here is 1 simple questions for you. And if you fail to answer, then your just a scared little Zeke apologist:

1. If the Cowboys could hold onto ONE of the two backs which one would you pick Zeke or Pollard. Lets assume both are the same price.

And since I know the stunt you are going to try to pull, lest also assume that there will be two other backs on the roster besides the one you pick.

You 100% dump Zeke. For any number of obvious reasons. You offer Pollard somewhere in the 8 million per year range for 2 or 3 years. If he wants more, you let him walk.

Plenty of good backs in FA. Pay the line, not the back.

Is that it? Thats all you got? Are we moving goal posts now that you got called?
Let me ask you this, then. When was the last time he had 25 carries a game?

Henry.....the guy zeke haters fawn over....also has 4.4 ypc. Whats the difference?

Numbers dont lie. Zeke haters do.

Nice try. Still waiting....

This is the king of zeke haters....since day one. As if we was a bama fan.
He once told me "zeke is only rushing champ because of number of carries".
I showed him Emmitts carries per game and he put me on ignore.

I want a puppy for Christmas. :) Regarding Zeke, I want to see how the year plays out first. Plenty of time to decide.

Oh i see....so...you're o e of those guys eh?

Okay....never. Happy?

You dont want to talk about why. If i was you, i wouldnt either.

It's a simple question. But you can't answer it can you? Yet he is the 2nd highest paid running back in the league. Contemplate this on the Tree of Woe.

James Connor signed a 3-year/$21M deal with Arizona and Pollard has easily outperformed him so the 'line' for Pollard could approach $10M/year. Currently Spotrac has Pollard's 'market value' set at $8.2M but you know teams might overpay, especially seeing as how Saquan Barkley's market value is currently set at $11.2M (Barkley has just over 1,400 total yards whereas Pollard has just shy of 1,300 total yards....in a shared role with Zeke).

I agree. Some team will overpay. But if a team features him the right way, the guy can be even better.

Im not changing my tune. Dont pay the back, pay the line.

Its a great you for FA backs.

Walt Garrison once said, if you need 3 yards, I will get you 3 yards, if you need 5 yards, I will get you 3 yards. :muttley:

When i read the OP it reminded me exactly of this quote. But didnt know Garrison said it. Thanks for the info.

And i answered you.

What YOU refuse to answer...is why.

Maybe...i know this might be hard to comprehend...but lets try....if the USE him like 2nd highest paid....hed be 2nd best in the league.

You hate because of the paycheck. You got your own great Tree Of Woe.

Old football term when they played on real turf.

However, he is applying it wrong with Zeke...it should be he leaves a trail of dust 3 yards long as he runs.

I bet Walt's not crazy about all the piercings, but I bet he loves how hard Zeke plays.

Miss guys like Walt, those 70's teams were all tough.
