He is done and he knows it. It can’t be a easy job. I think the team had given up on him. Maybe because JJ has said to much. And hasn’t exactly helped.
There's no guarantee firing JG would spark the team. It would definitely spark the fan base.
Weird thing is, even at 6-7 the Cowboys would still hold first in the East even if Philly wins Monday. I suspect Jerry would stick with JG, at least for another week.
Not happening.By firing their HC now to give life and spark the team.
Tough decision made by Panthers owner over a former SB coach and NFL coach of the year.
But as owner you’re always looking for that spark once you sense the coaches fate after the season.
But should they if it continues spiraling down in an effort to save it?We’d still be a first place team at that point. They won’t make a coaching change while the season is on the line.
Probably not but it should. That’s my argument anyway. Not happening.
Not happening.
I see what you're saying but they really are two different situations.By firing their HC now to give life and spark the team.

It shouldn't effect the search process . Most of all I’m more interested in making the most of this season.I see what you're saying but they really are two different situations.
1) Dallas can lose and still make the playoffs. They could even lose twice if one isn't to Philly
2) Dallas has a coach (Kris Richard) on their team that some (right or wrong) consider a possible HC candidate.
He would be the most likely interim head coach for the final few games. But teams often rally around the new guy (remember Garrett?) and if they win a few, that guy becomes the locker-room favorite. It could affect the search process.

Of course. But I find that unbelievably unlikely. It shouldn't effect the search process . Most of all I’m more interested in making the most of this season.
And if Richards led us to a championship wouldn’t we be interested in retaining him as HC?
But should they if it continues spiraling down in an effort to save it?
I’m not sure why we’d follow or support Jerry’s rhetoric?
And yes I’d agree he’s looking for ways to keep him but it’s a winless battle. Jerry can’t save Jason. He’s already damaged that opportunity. I believe beyond repair.
nothing misunderstood. You just keep altering the angle to try and avoid admitting you were wrong. My support of Garrett has been misunderstood by some. Those who have been following me for years have a clearer understanding the root of my support which is based on the fact I’ve had little hope a better solution was possible.
And I’m still not sold firing Garrett will resolve our issues until Jerry is willing to step away.
But this situation is different. It’s become too toxic knowing Garrett is now gone and is not in the best interest for success the remainder of this season.
Nobody has ever fired a coach of a first place team mid-season that I can think of. Can you?
they should, but you're probably right. they won't. the message should be multiple, directed both at coaches and players. We’d still be a first place team at that point. They won’t make a coaching change while the season is on the line.
Nope ........ But our idiot owner fired a coach who won him a Superbowl 2 months earlier.
