If Dak bombs another game do you want to see Rush/Lance?

Mike's offense will 100% ruin a young QB. Esp one with little training in using this crappy offense. Dak will start every game, rush will come in when it's meaningless. McCarthy is so bad at being an OC it's almost as if he does it on purpose.

Why in the world would I want to see Rush, a noodle-armed 30 year old backup? People were here last year talking about some team is going to pay him to be the their starter. He had no offers and took a backup deal in Dallas, because that is what he is and the rest of the league knew it.

"But Rush is 5-1 as a starter."

He's 5-0 when the opponent scores 17 or less. He's 0-1 when they don't. He's not taking any team anywhere. He's a back up.

Lance is a lottery ticket. 49ers gave up a lot to get him but gave him away for next to nothing. Meanwhile, Mr. Irrelevant has them humming. Lance turning into a franchise QB is a long shot, at best. I know folks are tired of Dak, I hear ya, but stop talking yourselves into Cooper Rush and Trey Lance.
Yeah neither are going to be starting as long as Dak is healthy enough to play and the Cowboys aren't eliminated from the playoffs. I get frustrated with Dak too at times. But know there isn't a realistic chance of either Cooper Rush or Trey Lance playing/starting unless it's under the circumstances I mentioned.

No matter how much you wish otherwise, Dak will always start as long as he’s healthy.

No, ride this season out with Dak.

Trade or release him in the offseason then draft Bo Nix or another one of the QBs in this class and ride with him and Trey Lance in 2024 and beyond.

Use the $34m you save by cutting Dak to add another WR, DE, and LB.

Should have kept Rush in there since Daks injury last year.

I have absolutely no hope Dak is going to play any better and beat San Diego. I just don’t. How many would be ready to see Rush/Lance thrown into the mix???
why? how does that make sense? I don't want to see Rush. we know he sucks. if anything, I want to see Lance because then we can decide if he has something or not. if he doesn't then we know what we have to do in the draft.

You don't want Lance playing soon, but maybe way later. That's an impossibly bad combination. Million-to-one.

1. Lance will never improve without considerable reps. And even then: a long shot.
2. The Cowboys will have to make a new big fresh financial commitment for Lance to even be around in 2025.

The Lance situation is this: water is flooding from the floor. Space to breathe soon to get closed out from the ceiling. Oh: and currently:
He.Can't.Swim.
This million to one scenario was basically the process before free agency and salary caps. A quarterback, no matter how high they were drafted, waited years before becoming a starter unless that team was desperate due to lack of any talent

In this case, the Cowboys would consider a new contract based on potential as witnessed in practices, training camps, and preseason games.

This was similar to the way they negotiated with Romo's contract before he became a starter

Nope…….just want to see us acquire real talent at the Qb position via the draft.

The other guys can remain capable backups

I'm somewhat tempted to commit a mortal sin against my better judgment by favoring us to win a 3-point game vs. the Chargers today. Having said as much, my better judgment conversely demands that I surrender to it in going with a 7-point win for San Diego. Since the Cowboys have seen fit to ignore my favoring them lately, I'll be hoping they keep torturing me with another loss to the team that we're favored against come Monday night.

Cowboys Nation Fringe Element is embarrassing…..Dak Haters have zero intestinal fortitude :lmao: :lmao2:

I want to see Lance now.
Jerry isn’t going to allow it, the only coach that had that authority was BP. The only way a QB change happens is a injury excuse. I would like to see TL for the simple reason to see what he grasps of the O that Dak is having trouble with after 8 seasons, I admit I don’t expect much but I would like to see. MM is hamstrung because I believe Jerry calls the shots and MM doesn’t have the intestinal fortitude to pull Dak if he plays bad. TL is the emergency QB and CR is a practice squad reject so it will be a long time before TL plays. Everyone will know when the ice is thin when TL is the backup QB and CR the emergency QB. Jerry doesn’t want a QB controversy he’s done everything in his power to prevent this that’s why there has not been a decent backup during Daks tenure

I want to see one of them before he has a chance to bomb yet another game.

Dak's strong suit would be playing crappy enough to self destruct the team & give the team no choice but move on while putting them in position to draft a replacement.

Put in Rush who can be functional & give the team a chance for regular season success.

Put in Lance who probably struggles but you get information about the future.

The team will choose #1 even though they don't understand how they will benefit.

I do agree with you 100%, however, MM's offense was brought in to minimize the ineffectiveness of our QB and backup. If you have a Lance type of QB, MM would have more to work with..note a Lance type QB, not Lance in his present state

Last week's loss against SF was catastrophic in terms of its impact on team confidence. Regardless of what is being said to the media, another performance like that could send this team and its fanbase into the abyss. How many times do we have to see Dak give a subpar effort in a big game before we recognize him for what he is, a 4th round pick who is basically relegated to being a pocket passer(because of injuries) instead of the dual option he used to be. Without the real threat of the run against good defenses, Dak has to be a better decision maker and more accurate thrower which he has clearly shown he can't. And this is the QB Jerry wants to extend.
Jerry Jones does not have the talent to identify and put the team in a position to land a top QB.

It’s easier just to try to convince everyone how great the one he has is.

We are at a massive, massive disadvantage by not having a qualified GM, but that isn’t exactly news.

I should have said Monday in my first sentence, instead of today. (These Cowboys have me just as confused as disappointed lately.)

There are around 7 good QB prospects in this next draft class. I agree, get one.

He may not be better than Dak, who knows, but what I do know is this: We're on year 8 and Dak is not the answer. Move on.
