If Dak has a year like last year, this will be his final year with the team

Definitely true that the Cowboys are married to Dak. But I fully expect them to draft a QB in the mid rounds. They know that they need to develop a QB with starting potential. Dak could easily get hurt again. And if they hit on a QB, then Dak's performance will become a factor. For now though, Dak is safe.
Totally agree.

Hope the Cowboys use a mid-rounder on DTR (QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson).

If they want that to happen, then they best get a RB that is similar to Zeke, in his rookie season. Because Pollard is not that RB. Unless MM has a super good game plan different from the Moore / Garrett / Linehan plan.
Hater !!! Lol you don’t know if pollard can’t be that guy but I agree with drafting a rb but regardless pollard is gone next year

We want someone similar to 2016 zeke not 2022 and that’s dependent on improving the line

hum didn't you jump ship last year after the last loss, or was that the year before with the same choking event in that game?

It's okay, I'll keep you a seat on the haterwagon.
I’ll never be on that wagon. That’s for miserable people only.

You won't find a bigger Dak fan anywhere then me. But even I can see the writing on he wall. He's not Jerrys choice. I've said this since his rookie yr. Jerry wouldn't even entertain the idea of having him starter over Romo even with him t taking the league by storm that first yr. AND it's not like Jerry doesn't throw a sunrise jab at da fk every chance he gets. I think that contract negotiation and his agent hoping the price every time they talk he was the last straw for Jerry.

If he has a yr anywhere like last yr, this will ge his final yr with the team IMO. He has 61 mil still guaranteed, and a 59mil cap hit next yr. So they can make him a June cut and save 28.5mil. Get 28.5 mil in june to sign guys like Ceedee and Diggs. Of course you have a huge hole but it is and eat it is.

Overthecap is projecting 256mil cap in 2024 and Dallas has 46 players under contract. Which means Dallas has the 51 cap number basically set. As of right now Dallas has 6.4mil in caproom another 6 in June. Dallas will need around 3mil to pay their rookies. So take 9mil in rollover for 2024. With OTC projections Dallas could walk into 2024 with a 265 mil adjected cap with 212mil already allocated. So they can have 43mil in cap space.

Now say Dak is just not getting it done, moving on from him wouldn't kill the team because they've drafted so good. The majority of the team is on rookie deals. This forum has hated this deal since it was signed because they saw 40mil AAV, but he's had 21Mil AAV since signing his deal and we're in yr 3 of 4. This shows you this team knows what they're doing with their contracts. Yeah 30mil is a big chunk, but it's alot better than 59mil. And that's 30mil for nothing just dead money if he's gone. But it doesn't kill you because you have 46 players already signed. And the core is already under contract.

I totally agree. If Dak had another year like that, it should be his last in Dallas.

With that said, we have a real offensive coordinator who's intelligent enough to understand the flow of the game and I don't believe our receiving corp will have as many bad outings as they've had last year either.

I believe the entire offense will improve, but if they don't changes would have to be made, starting with Dak.

I question how good Zeke was even then. He just like Dak benefitted from the best Oline in the league. He was basically exposed after the line disintegrated. Lead Feet Zeke.
Oh come on. This is just ridiculous thing to say.
This just isn't moving the goal posts. It is putting them on Mars.

Do you disagree that Zeke was running behind the best Oline in the league his rookie season?? What happened if it was all Zeke? Why couldn't he do it after Frederick left? Dude was running through wide-open spaces his first couple years.

Then Moore entered as OC and everything went down. To me it was Moore and yes, a lesser OL.
But to say it is ALL the OL for any success is not entirely true. There is an agenda there.

So Murray had a great OL in 2014. But that same OL could not do the same for the 2015 RBBC group. Zeke comes along in 2016....oh...the OL is great again....
Explain that.

I think the OL focus in 2016 was to run the ball and it showed in the game plans and how the line was operating. Before that they were more focused on Romo and pass protection. Ebbs and flows and will of the owners. The owners tell the coaches what to do on this team. "We want to protect Romo this year". "We want to run the ball with Zeke this year". Honestly, you don't think these type of ultimatums come down from the Joneses? Also, 2016 was just a really good health year for the OL and they were pretty dominant. Just everything aligned for them and it showed for the whole offense.

I am hoping Dak puts it all together and has a great year but I could easily see this being his last. If he has another playoff performance like the one against SF he will be gone.

No, it won't! Assuming like in 2022 Dakota Prescott is QB1, Cowboys earn a play-off Berth and improve by one Win in the playoffs into NFCG then NO, this will not be Prescott's last year...

Unlike most Dak Haters, rationale and knowledgeable Football fans know on the scale of Progression Production and Performance, Dakota Prescott career is tracking with Peyton Manning and other successful starting QBs.

Last Season was Successful inspite of the 49ers loss.

Dak Haters think they are entitled to choose the next Eye Test....

The week before he annihilated the Tom Brady led team.
9 other quarterbacks annihilated the same 45 year old Tom Brady led team last season too, that didn’t lead the league in interceptions.

a pathetic 8-9 Bucs team that shouldn’t have been in the playoffs?

thats what we’re crowing about now to support Rayne Dakota cause?

the bar continue to go even lower around here for some. Some of y’all go too far with the comedy
