A few members here are afraid of moving on due to the unknown. The phrase 'who do you replace him with' is constantly thrown out there as an excuse for sticking with status quo. They would rather cave and pay Dak whatever he wants and not face the chance of his replacement losing a couple more games a season.

The same excuse was used in an attempt to keep Garrett on the payroll. OMG, we can't let Garrett go because his replacement might be worse.

It's ridiculous reasoning. We MUST keep Dak because his replacement might be worse, even though he's a proven loser against top teams. But you might find the next Mahomes out there too, though you will never know if you keep sticking with status quo out of fear of the unknown. Grow a pair already...
Yes, because not having a plan is dumb.

"You might find the next Mahomes" -This is why the Just Move On people are ridiculous. You have a top-10 QB entering his prime and you want to find a one in a million prospect. It's just such stupid logic.

So the answer is to just make Dak the highest paid player in the history of this league???

NO.
So lets find someone else and then make HIM the highest-paid player.

It's delusional to think that you win consistently without paying the QB top dollar. Just does not happen in this league.

dak is not worried about the sb. he's making sure he does his duty to protect all the other players in the league and their future salaries.

Because Dak is way better than Purdy and they're both going to get basically the same money after this season anyway.

Yea...no they didn't. They said stop the run - that's an indictment of the playcalling, not the QB play.
How could Shanahan not want Dak after the shows he's put on right in front Shanny's eyes.

KS is a big "my system" guy, is there just a chance that's he's very content with Purdy running his offense and wouldn't see Dak as an upgrade? Rhetorical - of course there is.

Shanahan loves Dak.

"Dak has always been a challenge," Shanahan said during his press conference, per a transcription provided by the team to ***NOT-ALLOWED***.com, "when you're a pure pocket passer who can make all the throws in there and read the defense really well and get the ball to the right spots and do it accurately. That's why he's had the career he has and when things do break down, he's got a knack for how to get out of that pocket and make some off-schedule plays. That's why he has had such successful career so far."

Dak is not way better than Purdy. He’s helped led his team to an NFC championship game and a Super Bowl. He also runs a more complex Shanahan offense.

What do you think stopping the run means? It means they’re putting it on the QB to beat them. And yes, players have literally said words to the effect of what I said about Dak.

when Dak leaves we will see hard times like when Danny White was phased out then started to go down hill, searching for a QB. Even with him, starting this year, we might begin to see it begin to happen due to poor roster decisions along the interior dline.

Just coach speak. There’s zero benefit to rag on opposing players. Imagine if they were on a lie detector and had to be honest.

“Coach, you’re facing Daniel Jones this week. What challenges does he present to you?”

“None. Dude completely sucks. He looks and plays like Lloyd Christmas from Dumb and Dumber.”

You're right, it is a total lie.

Yes, he is. The idea that Dak can't run Shanahan's offense is ridiculous. Jimmy G did it lol.

That is the result of a team wanting to run the ball, not a dig at the QB.

Jimmy G was sent packing. That’s not an argument for Dak.

Huh? What does the team wanting to run the ball have to do with the opposing team wanting to stop it? Every offense wants to run the ball. Gaining a high average of yards per carry is the easiest way to tire out a defense. Having a balanced offense is a key to being able to win the game since its inception. When players come out and say ‘we wanted to stop the run and force Dak to beat us’ that’s exactly what they mean, and they say that because they’re more concerned with the run than they are of the QB beating their pass defense.

Go listen to what the former player Donte Winter (?) said about Dak after the 49ers game last year. It wasn’t pretty.

He went to a Super Bowl lol. It means the offense isn't so complicated that Dak can't execute it...

Good offenses do not care if they run the ball. Teams who depend on it don't go anywhere.

Whitner hasn't played since 2016 lmao

And Dak has caused many fans to give up on the Cowboys. Dak has done nothing in the playoffs and has done nothing to create a team friendly deal on his last contract and won't on this contract.
If Dak has caused fans to give up on the Cowboys, there’s going to be many more fans give up on them if he walks and we’re stuck with an average QB in 2025. If we end up like some of these teams struggling with a bad QB situation every season, visiting this board will be like sticking your head in a trash dumpster every day. To say Dak has done nothing in the playoffs is totally wrong! He has two playoff wins and played one of the best games of his career in one of those playoff wins. Even if he signed a team friendly deal fans would continue to bash him. There’s a saying be careful what you wish for.

We don't know that for a fact. Kansas City thought Alex Smith/Nick Foles wasn't the answer and thought they would see hard times without them. The search for a quarterback isn't reason to panic or pay $60M to your current quarterback who can't get the job done.

Providing Dak plays out this season and leaves Dallas. Where could he honestly go and win a Super Bowl in the next 3 years ? I don't think there's any place better than where he is now. Mostly all the contenders have a solid QB in place. Someone mentioned Las Vegas, but they aren't passing KC anytime soon. Every QB needy team has at least 2-3 roadblocks in their conference to deal with. Dak may not make a difference.
Not sure Dak can win a SB anywhere. He is a good QB but has come up empty in almost every big game. Plus he is 31. How much time does he have left?

It's not about what team he might go to. He's a choker.
You'd think 3 playoff collapses in a row would open a few more eyes than it has. Dak has shown that the moment is too big for him. Down 7-0 in the 1st quarter of a home playoff game before taking the field, the TV camera caught Dak with a thousand yard stare. In contrast, think Brady, think Mahomes.
Dak new at that point his defense was useless.
