Whatever be the knock on Eli manning , his playoff play was no fluke , of course he needed miracle catches to beat Pats , but he elevated his game in the championship games, I still can’t forgive dam Crayton for dropping the ball and not catching the ball in that game, which we should have won . (defense had a big role - 20 sec TD before half to tie the game )
So we should have won, but Eli made it happen???

100% agree, they never had intentions on resigning Dak. They took their loss on his last contract, he had them over a barrel, they were desperate. They calculated this. Jerry is still pissed about Dak insisting on 4yrs, and the no trade clause.
Sure, that why Jerry keeps making offers to Dak.

He quit before he took the field. Hence the comment about the thousand yard stare.

"Did you watch the game?"...pfft
The thousand yard stare was from shock from watching how bad our defense was.

Sure, that's why GM Jethro has such a solid replacement plan.
Yeah, he traded for Lance. If Lance doesn't work out he can find a middle of the road free agent next year and look to draft a replacement.

Sounds like a stupid plan. Did it take him 4 years to come up with it?

Sound like anything that doesn't follow your narrative is stupid. If you live long enough you will learn it is better to take an unknown road, vs a comfortable road that doesn't take you anywhere, especially if it is a toll road that continually raises it's toll.

You overvalue Dak. I on the other hand contend that you can find a replacement for Dak at a fraction of the cost, without losing too much production. I would be willing to bet with a strong running game and our offensive line that Davis Mills (yes I am advocating signing Mills next year) can come in and we would still make the playoffs.

I guess we need to define “ anywhere”. I’m sure our owner would argue where they have been in the playoffs is somewhere even if it’s not the results you are chasing.

You'd never see that look from Staubach.
He would've willed the team to find a way to win.
Oh my, you've forgotten so much, my friend.
The expectations of the QB used to be so much more.
Now, it's just excuse after excuse."

Then why is Dak Prescott not released by the Cowboys? Wouldn’t it make sense to get started on a future without Dak Prescott immediately?

It is remarkable to me...that some of these guys that show the tough guy routine...are so soft on Dak.

If 6 is right (I'd say he's really just trolling people), if a bad series takes the fight out of a vet/mvp QB, I'm not sure he's worthy.

Everybody thinks that Dak has all the leverage. Actually what the Cowboys should do is not re-sign Dak. On one hand, if the Cowboys win a SB with Dak this season, Dak's price tag will be so ridiculous that there would be no way they could re-sign him and keep a competitive team around him for future SBs. On the other hand, if Dak doesn't win a SB, then Cowboys fans aren't going to want him back. Either way, the Cowboys should move on regardless of what happens this season.
I’m a Dak guy, he’s not elite but he keeps this ship sturdy. Saying that, I think after this year a parting of ways would benefit both he and us.

Because they would have to pay him regardless.
No, they wouldn’t. All the guaranteed money on his current contract has already been paid. They can release him and no more funds will go from the Cowboys to any financial account of Dak Prescott. They would not “have to pay him regardless”.

Let me rephrase it then, his cost against the cap will be the same regardless.
