makes no sense... at all. I never said anything like that. You just don’t like it so you make a ridiculous response.
If you want the owners to make all the money, and the players to make crap, then it's over for sports. The fact is, Owners are Billionaires, players are Millionaires. Players and the players association will NOT allow those types of restrictions on players.
When they accepted the salary cap in it's current form, that was a mistake and still continues to be. This salary cap has basically destroyed dynasties except for the cheating Patriots. Quarterbacks are NOT going to take less to make you happy. Players aren't going to take less to make fans happy and I don't blame them.

Lot's of Owner's make billions off of their teams. Jones didn't come in as a Billionaire. Now he's worth nearly 9 billion. Owners are the definition of greedy, but fans rarely look at them. Billionaires in general are greedy. Players want to make as much as they can in the short amount of time they have, and they don't give a **&^ what LittleBoyBlue thinks or says about it. America was and still is built off of greed.

These QB salaries are going up and we have to pay it. All salaries are going up and we have to pay it. If you put a cap on Billionaire salary's, they WON'T LIKE IT. So if they don't like it, why should the players like it? And you're right, if they don't like it, they can do something else. What would it be like for you to watch the NFL with a bunch of 37 year old out of shape losers vs the world class athletes we watch so that the owners can make their money, which won't be much with the product on the field? And that's what it would be if these players decided to DO SOMETHING ELSE.

Supply/Demand - The players are the main attraction in the NFL. Not the owners, not the referees, not the cheerleaders, or the ball boys or coaches, or drunk fans, it's the players. These players do something that's in HIGH DEMAND. And when you're in high demand, you can basically demand whatever you want. Billionaire owners know this, the players know this. So players just need to be smart about it and not dumb like Tyron Smith who took a 10 year deal.

Whatever Dak is asking for is not nearly enough in the grand scope of things.

In my book no entertainer should be paid even half f that money

In my book 90 percent of the posters shouldn't post half as much because their opinions on subjects are stupid/unrealistic/worthless.

I'm not saying it's you but a lot of people that say that, there is some conscious or unconscious envy and/or jealousy that helps drive that thinking. It not just the envy or jealousy for the money, but also wishing they could have been able to play in the NFL or MLB or the NBA. These same people rationalize other professions where people make huge salaries, but when it comes to sports, they change their views. Those that have a problem with anyone that makes big bucks then they are just against a capitalistic society based on free enterprise.
.
I think entertainers in general main job is to distract people that is why they pay them so much

I thinks a result of how much movies make and the stars want a fair share of that money. Back in the day movie stars sign contracts with studios that paid them a set amount for each movie they were in. Now stars don't sign those kind of contracts and when a movie producer wants a certain star for a movie they then negotiate an amount for that movie. If the last X number of movies that star were huge box office successes, the star get more money now tied in to a percentage of how much the movie makes. When a movie makes 200 million the stars make a nice percent of those movies.

Never said that.
But as a business owner it is ok if you make a ton of money and players STILL make a ton as an employee with out being x-amount of owner/franchise worth.

There’s a shift coming.
How many of these outrageous deals have netted championships?

Then there should probably be a NFLQB salary Cap for same reason they established the original Caps.

If you must have an elite QB to compete at 40 mil per year how does that make the NFL more competitive?

NFLPA would never agree to it. QB get paid big just as MLB pitchers are paid big. If you look at MLB out of the top 5 highest paid players 4 are pitchers.

Goes both ways, being cheap hasn't netted championships either.

Here's some things that are simple things that have zipped right over your head. The owners are the employers and the players are the employees. Professional sports is the only business where the employees try to dictate an exact percentage of the employers total income belongs to them. Now those billionaire owners could live life the same way they do today if they never made another dime. They may not like not making more money but they would live extremely well. Those millionaire players should be able to live comfortably the rest of their lives if they never made another dime from football except all to often just a few years after they retire they're broke and filing bankruptcy whether it's from their wasteful spending, bad investments or crooked accountants and managers.

Now you are right that the NFL is a form of supply and demand and that the price for players goes up every year but that is because the cap number goes up every year. Now I'm for players being able to make as much money as they can but I'm opposed to them having to get a predetermined percentage of the total amount the league generates. With out that cap then if a team doesn't put together a talented team they can't use the cap as an excuse. It will be because that owner chose not to spend his money for the players. There would no longer be those fans that could say the team can't sign this player for that amount because of not enough money left under the cap to sign other players.

But it doesn't change the owners are the employers and the players are the employees and the players should remember that.

If the owners want to take up their little egos and quit, bye bye. I'm sure their are multimillionaires who would want to buy these franchises and treat the players with total respect. I don't give a **&^ about the 1%s because they make money from US. No one gives a %*^% about the owners, they care about the players. So players have every right to hold out, do whatever they can to make as much as they can.

Dak isn't asking for 100 million dollars a year, he's asking market value, and if the owner won't/can't pay it, send him on his way. But I dare you to go to the next Cowboy game and just root for JERRY JONES.

Our modified free-market system is by no means perfect, but it's far better than most. One of the weird quirks to it is that entertainers of all types can make insane amounts of money, based on demand for their services.

I guess you could go to Bernie's or AOC's plan....implemented fully, entertainers income would drop 99%.
This is funny since so many from Hollywood and pro sports seem to think they like the ideas, in an unrealistic, romantic sort of way.

You just proved you didn't understand anything I said and you have a reading and comprehension problem. The owners, regardless of who the owners are, are the employers and the players are the employees. Now in my original response to you I didn't name a single player or owner. I spoke in general of all owners and all players. I made reference to if a team or player. I also said that the market value for players goes up every year and this is because of the increases in the cap. I said that players should be able to make as much as they can and that I've always been opposed to the cap and why.

Now if you want me to speak about Prescott, fine I will and here it goes. Anyone that states a moronic idea that if the Cowboys don't want to pay what Prescott wants should just let Prescott go doesn't have a clue about what he's TRYING to talk about.

Who cares if the owners are the employers, they don't push the market, the players do. So in essence, the players are sort of partners. Without the players, this league is NOTHING. If the owners want to pack their bags and disappear, replace them with other owners. But you're not replacing a Mahomes or a Brady.

So who knows wth you're talking about, play pacman instead talking football. And about Prescott, it's pretty much known business that I'm a Prescott guy. A guy that took his sorry team to 1st in the nation will always have my attention. But if Jerry refuses to pay him what he's worth, then let the guy walk. If he's going to pay him, great! If you don't like what I just said, I don't really give a F.

You really are clueless. The players don't push the market, the owners do. You want proof. If multiple owners want the same free agent the price keeps going up. That price is what the OWNERS are willing to pay. Conversely when a free agent that wants X amount to sign and all 32 owners don't jump at that price and that player sits unsigned, again the owners decided that what that player wants is more than he's worth and the OWNERS are telling the players your contract demands isn't realistic.

Like i said you just don't get that even if every owner is replaced with entirely new owners, the new owners would still be the employers and the players would still be the employees. Changing owners DOES NOT change that. You want proof. Going back to the CBA before the current one before it was signed the players demanded that they should get 55% of the total NFL revenue, which would be more than what the owners that pay them would get and the owners locked them out until they agreed to the 46% they got. Now this current CBA the players again wanted that 55% and the owners said that the players should have learned the last time that they will not play them more than what they get and said the same thing would happen. This time before another lockout would happen the players agreed to the 48.5% they have now. The players work for the owners not the other way around. Professional sports is different than other businesses but none of the leagues have the players taking more of the revenue that the owners because the owners ARE the employers and the players are the employees.

Just what are you talking about Prescott taking and I'll quote you "A guy that took his sorry team to 1st in the nation " . Mississippi State has never won a national championship and under Prescott the Cowboys haven't won any Super Bowls. Now if you're going to say having the #1 offense last season I'll say to you the same thing I say to those that are Prescott haters. It's a team game and Prescott doesn't get all the credit nor all the blame, it takes ALL of the players to win and all of the players to lose. Also if you meant the Cowboys last season just what kind of fan are you who calls his team a sorry team?

It's obvious that you're a big Prescott fan but it's just as obvious that you have no idea of how economics in the NFL or any other business works. You have tunnel vision for getting Prescott signed and are trying to change realities to fit your tunnel vision. Just so you know, I too hope that Prescott gets resigned but not as the highest paid player in the league. He has improved a great deal over the last 4 years but not to the level of being the highest paid player. Yes market values go up but that doesn't mean that those who are not the best at their position jump to being the highest paid player. Prescott has even admitted that without a Super Bowl win he shouldn't be paid more than Wilson.

1.Technically, they are contractors NOT employees, thus the contracts.
2. Most Owners across the world would be NOTHING without workers or customers.
3. If all players decided NOT to play, the owners would have to sell. Merchandise=gone/ Ad revenue= gone/ all forms of team revenue=gone
4. The reason the players and all contractors/employees cave in is money. But if they weren't strapped for money, the Contractors would almost always win.
5. Prescott can ask for 36 to be top paid QB because he can. If you don't like that, then don't pay him. Pretty simple

I've explained it like a 4 year old so you can understand, but I'm sure even that won't get through.
