If Romo threw that pick 6 like Manning...

Wow. That's harsh. :(

No kidding, I seem to recall a couple of critical drops in the game for Indy that killed drives. Manning pick 6 clearly was the knife in the heart but far from the only miscue by the Colts

Wayne had a ball hit him in the hands for asocre on the last series, for example. Without Manning, the Colts get demolished in that game.

It was clever of the Saints to save a few different defensive alignments and stunts for the final drives. They had metioned that they would save a few surprises until the end for Manning and he did seem a bit perplexed. They actually had a fouth quarter game plan different than the others...kind of unique, I thought.

Are you taking notes Wade ?

I keep seeing this thread title and it intrigues me. So do the posts.

But I just haven't been able to get up enough nerve to respond. I am no good at what ifs. Romo doesn't play for the Colts. I get what the thread is saying, but I can't just can't quite bridge the chasm between fact and fantasy to discuss this.

Manning is taking his share of lumps. There was an article on Yahoo this morning basically saying he comes up small and is a loser, good QBS have to find a way to make a play, blah, blah, blah.

This type of argument really pisses me off. There are so may variables that to blame it on one player is ridiculous. Peyton played pretty good most of the game. Its pretty much serendipity that the pick 6 came when it did. All QBS throw picks from time to time, it just so happened to Manning that it came on a drive that could have tied the Super Bowl. His WRs didn't help him out much in that game. If Pierre Garcon holds on to that pass or the Saints don't recover that onside kick, we aren't even having this discussion. Romo has made his own bed at times (Giants game this year) and other times there are others to share the blame.

Heck yeah, they would throw Romo or Roy Williams under the bus before they scored the touchdown.

Manning led a comeback if I remember correctly. The Colts were behind by double digits and it was looking like same old Pats beating same old Colts. Then Manning got in a zone.

He was not EXCEPTIONAL the entire game.

He also got his obligatory 2-3 PI calls in that game. The officials this year were excellent.
