I would for a 1st rounder.

Part of me just regrets on getting burned in the past (i.e. Cincy wanting Bennett). And the other part is now with the rookie cap, being able to stockpile 1st rounders is the smart thing to do because they won't kill your cap.

Why would SF want an unreliable player who their QB does not have a connection with?

Would you rather talk about some undrafted free agent that is probably not going to make the roster or the new long snapper.. Just something to talk about between the draft and training camp void..

I think he means, something that is out of thin air. It is not even plausible, the cap hit that would come with it, would drive Dallas into more of a cap hell. Where do you come up with San Fran needing Austin, then for a 2nd rder? Why not start a thread about trading Ware for a Hershal Walker package?!?!

Jerry doesn't do these kinds of things. We might miss that one player when we go on our Superbowl run this year.

Genius.

Baltimore just traded playoff hero Anquan Boldin for a sixth, but the Cowboys could never give up Miles "one good season" Austin for a second??

Baltimore already won their Super Bowl. The Cowboys are still desperately in the Super Bowl hunt. I don't think they'd be willing to trade away a key player when a real playoff run hasn't happened yet.

But again, like I said, I'd trade Austin for a 1st-round pick for sure.

I'm torn on this one.. I don't want to make SF better.. But if they offer a 2nd I might be swayed.. Its not like we're gonna challenge them in the near future anyway.. And Crabtree will be out for a while...

Yea I would make the trade for a 2nd but I totally disagree with you about challenging them in the near future. To be honest, I don't even know why you would think that. To each is own, I suppose. We can definitely challenge them and BEAT THEM, this year.

There may be only one GM in the league that would be stupid enough to make that trade, But Jerry already has Miles on his team.

The only positive of this trade would be a higher Cowboy pick in the first round next year because we would be tanking this season before it even starts. We would be giving up our 1A WR to the best team in the conference to replace their injured 1st round pick WR. They go back to the Super Bowl and we get the 63rd pick in 2014. As an added bonus we get a 10m cap hit that puts over the limit(more cuts) and eliminates any rollover for next year. We might as well throw in Spencer.

This thread is so typical of this place. Somebody comes up with a ridiculous scenario that would never even be considered by the "proposed hypothetical" team and its off to the races with the Jerry bashing and other nonsense.

What sane person would even think that SF would want Miles? Seriously, this is just absurd at best. And then think they would give up a 2nd round pick?

And we get 6 pages of replies to this lunacy set forth in the OP. :bang2: :bang2:

I'm trippin off the OP doesn't think we could compete with SF. IF we're somewhat healthy we can COMPETE and BEAT anybody. As for the trade, that's too ridiculous to even comment on.

Why are people so convinced this year's 12 package is going to be so much better than what we had with Fasano and Bennett.

I'm not sure Garrett could make it work with two top five TE's.

Jason Zimmer. Do less with more.

In a New York minute! When he's on the field, he does produce, however, when he's on the field.

Let SF deal with his tissue hammies.
What kind of fan are you, talking negatively about players of the Dallas Cowboys. ;)

..is going nowhere. We just redid Romo a mega deal and we are going to let one of his best receivers go..?

I don't think anybody is going to take him with his history and big contract.

Where do you guys come up with this stuff..?

I know it's off-season and we did that Herschel Walker trade back in the day but that was 20+ years ago.

Nobody is going to take our problem off our hands AND give us a #2 Rd. pick as magic beans to help us.

It would pretty much be a 3rd based on where San Fran will be picking. No thanks. He is worth more to us than that. Make it incentive-based and we can talk. He eclipses 1000 yards and it's a 2nd, 1250 and it's a 1st. Makes Pro Bowl and it is 2 1sts, etc.

This makes no sense - who would be our #2? Throwing in the towel already? Wow.

no thanx...the cap hit would not be good, we would not have a #2 receiver, and the 2nd round pick (projected) will be in the 60's...

...if Miles can figure out his hammies, then he is a 1,000-yard receiver...if we traded him, it smacks of giving up...ain't gonna happen....

The whole thread is Madden. San Fran is not gonna call.

Since its hypothetical I want their 1st since it will probably be the 31st pick...

Yet the homer fan in me thinks Austin will give us 1,200 yds this season..:D
