You look silly blaming it on some sort of nefarious "good ole boy friendship." First of all, the commissioner and the league has never reversed the outcome of a game, let alone a championship. Second of all, the rule book states:
"The Commissioner has sole authority to investigate and to take appropriate disciplinary or corrective measures if any club action, nonparticipant interference, or emergency occurs in an NFL game which he deems so unfair or outside the accepted tactics encountered in professional football that such action has a major effect on the result of a game."
Anyone who was being completely honest about the situation - which I know so many of you are not - would not consider this so egregiously unfair or outside the accepted tactics encountered in football as to merit forfeiture. It's a 5 dollar crime which merits a 5 dollar fine. (Of course, that's if we assume for the sake of argument they are guilty despite the fact that it looks more and more like they are not).
