My god. It's about sparking discussion. Just like every other thread. Get over yourself.

understand what i'm saying or ignore me.

some things i find very annoying, like you seem to find me now, so you say so.

this "what happened today will dicate what we do in a year" is just ignorance in motion to me and hey - i spark discussion and say so. you don't like it, follow your own advice and just ignore me.

but as long as people are going to act as if 1 play can define a year, i'll be here to say "damn, that's stupid.".

Brohm... oh sorry, what was the question again?

Kidding. McFadden, I think it's easier to find talented WR's in the 2nd and 3rd (or even later) rounds. McFadden may very well be the Calvin Johnson of next years draft.

Plus we have two first round picks anyway, hopefully we'll get McFadden and then a WR or CB with the 2nd 1st rounder. I'm hoping CB.

Understand what the OP is saying or ignore him.

It says, "if the draft started today." It's not a prediction of what will happen a year from now. It doesn't require knowing what happens over the next several months. It's purely to spark discussion. It requires nothing more than what we know now.

Please, read before you overreact.

and if romo has a bad year, this is a valid option so all the TODAY TODAY TODAY stuff is just a tad premature.

if hurd pans out and crayton keeps his growth alive, is a WR more important than CB now?

what will make that a valid decision?

WAITING till it falls into place before you spend your time "speculating"

i read.

please get "my view" before you judge it.

we've not played a friggin regular season game. talking next years draft is jsut as stupid as worrying about who we'll draft in 2011.

romo can falter
hurd can step up
newman could be gone for life
our OL could lose 3 players

i don't care if we draft today cause we've got a year to play before it makes one damn bit of difference. so yea, it's a prediction of our need based on an incredible lack of information.

"Surprise! This is what people do on sports message boards."

Sorry. Couldn't resist.

Ice's biggest mistake was thinking an appeal for restraint would go over well here. Regrettably, the 24/7 fantasy geeks and draft devotees have inherited the Earth.

Woe is the "real" sports fan. It truly is a bereaved plight.

i totally understood the question.

i just think it can't be answered and all the people who will watch every play as if it defines what we'll do in a year from now as...

premature
knee jerk
"igs in motion"

if you want to make valid predictions on who we'll pick we'll wait and evaluate our needs a a full year of play.

i don't give a damn about the play by play overreaction because that's all we have today and people need "instant gratification".

patience, ogt. then worry about what we need.

I agree. I thought Lavelle Hawkins looked like the best WR out there tonight.

Well that generally happens when you roll the coverage to stop a player. In this case Tennesse was rolling coverage to stop Jackson.

To answer the thread at hand. If the draft was tomorrow, I think you would probably have to say McFadden. Just because you can't be sure what we are going to get with Julius Jones, and you never know how Barber would react to getting 20-25 touches a game.

I think if Jones proves he is the answer at RB it would be wise to look at Jackson. I think Crayton and Jackson would form a pretty strong partnership at WR.

Then again, Jackson seems a bit brittle.

It'd be a pretty slow board if we only posted when we had all possible available information at our disposal. Given it's the first week of college football, it's a pretty good starting point, in my opinion, for discussing the top prospects.

so talk about how they did today. but let's not pretend what they did today:

1. defines what they'll do all year
2. has already cemented our own draft position from cleveland
3. is who we'll get because they shined today and we like shiney objects
4. puts aside a whole year of what we'll go through and need at the end of the season, NOT before it even starts.

and i doubt it would be slow in here if people didn't hold a daily mock draft.

That's essentially what the thread boils down to.

No, but your silly "only post when you have all the information" rule would eliminate many more threads.

This has been mentioned before, but based on today's performances by DeSean Jackson, Darren Mc Fadden, do we need a receiver with big play capabilities, or a RB? Of course, CB will be a concern also.

Actually, that's exactly what this thread was supposed to be about.

no - this thread says what 2 players did today and which we'd draft if the draft were today.

we don't know what romo will do
we don't know what jones and barber will do
we don't know what hurd will do
we don't know how bad newman really is
we don't know what these players will do for the rest of the year

so before you even know your team needs in a year you're trying to spend that pick based off 2 players playing and a whole team with that pick not putting a snap on the field yet.

JUST a tad premature.

sorry that concept loses you.

my 'reply' is how premature that is to even consider now and you may as well write science fiction as anything else because so much more has to come together before you can make a logical decision.
