You're denying that you defended Garrett?

Everyone knows you did.
Defended him in the beginning, of course I did, ex player and his Dad a Cowboy, who wouldn't pull for him?

The other side of that was who else would Booger & Son hire that would be any better or worse?

When it became apparent Garrett was not going to grow and improve, I wanted a change like most everyone else.

But at the back of it was that one question, how involved are the Joneses with the HC. Is he doing what he thinks he should be doing as a HC or is he following orders?

I did not like Romo and I do not like Dak. I will be very happy when Dak is gone. I've seen what he can do and he is not the answer. After 7 years of maybe next year any hope for him has long faded away. It's time for someone else to get their chance to lead the Cowboys and I hope that person is in next years draft.

This is a really fun topic from an organizational perspective. Business is an infinite game, but 95% of people operate with a finite mindset.

For instance, many people say that there’s no good replacement option for Dak right now. I agree, but that’s finite thinking.

What really matters is whether you believe that Dak can lead this team to a SB. That’s the only question.

Many on this forum say ‘yes, absolutely’, and if that is true, you extend him. Many others say ‘No way’. If that’s the case, you move on or try and even extend him without a no trade clause and get draft capital off him. But if your answer is ‘no, but there’s no better qb right now’, you should still move on.

..doesn't matter to me. Everyone plays for money these days. Loyalty is non existent.

I know, Dak wants a championship. That alone warrants him to play lights out in Dallas.

Fact is: He knows more is coming his way. WIn or lose

Sadly it is a process !! and with jerry process =10 years, so I dont think he will be done with dak anytime soon.
And jerry doesnt have the brains to tank, even in a bad season !
When Romo broke his CB, jerry put him back in too early and he broke it again. He expected Romo to win 7 games in a row just to barely
make playoffs, and then march on to SB. What he should have done is tank after the game with 1st injury, then pick 1st in every round.
Romo would be ready next season after a year off, and all the top of the rounds picks to help team win.

jerry just isnt capable of tanking, or smart enough, and he thinks still that if his team just gets in playoffs, they have a good chance of winning a SB.
The problem with this strategy is that you expect Jerry and the brain trust to draft well and that wasn’t the case back then.

:muttley:Ride this out?
Dang that Dak-crush of yours has come home......BIG TIME!!!!!
Do you want to ride out Dak's Purgatory well real Cowboy fans who put the STAR above all(including your man-crush) are sick and tired of his shortcomings!!!
Carrying a bum QB takes its toll on a team and this coming season you will have the locker room first and foremost lash out against inept Prescott......Bet on it!!!
BOOO BOOOO BOOOO BOOOs will return soonest at ATT stadium!!!
You don’t think the WR room will keep defending Prescott☹?

but who could we get to win nothing like dak has done for us? I would hate to lose him and not win anything without him.
As many times as you ask this question over and over Cap, it never seems to get answered, lol.
The team is afraid to risk losing what, when they've never won anything with him?

They prefer the almost contender, aka relevance, over actually contending and winning trophies.

And sacrificing or going all in does not match that philosophy.

Relevance over trophies, thus saith the Joneses.

It takes a special person to say in one thread "I root for the Cowboys not individual players" then in this thread "I would root for the Cowboys to lose to get rid of this individual player"..i guess its true the Irony really is lost on some.....Give me the SB and all the tears referenced posters would have with it.

I posed this in another thread but thought it would be an interesting topic here, if all posters can really be honest with their answers.

First off, I am going to say Prescott is a more polarizing player than Romo was and I could see fans of the team actually pulling against their own team to try and get rid of him.

It is an oddity but it is there, many just don't want him to be the DC QB. The question is enough to pull against him and the team?

I gotta say, if I disliked him at QB as much as some here do, and evidently that is not exclusive to the Zone, I might be tempted to pull for a QB crash and burn.

And I am not going to ask if not him, then whom because those that really dislike Prescott do not care, I really do believe they have arrived at "anyone but him".

I am also not going to say if they go that route they are not good fans. Plenty of fans have pulled for their teams to get worse in order to get better.

So, my question is mainly to those that do not like him. If he does not get a new contract, can you pull for him and the team knowing he will get another one and most likely larger than the extension he might have gotten?

Oh, I know, the Joneses intend on extending him but they intended on getting him on a new contract before they had to do that 160M one. He's bet on himself before and won.
Dak getting an extension would be the last nail in the coffin of my hope for this franchise. I don't have much hope for them now, but that would end even my idle curiosity. Dak getting an extension would mean the end of McCarthy as head coach, as he would bear the brunt of Dak's failures, and I'm too old to care what happens after.
These are not the Dallas Cowboys I grew up loving, and they do not have an inkling of the greatness the Cowboys once personified.
And I'm sick of excuses.

Be interesting if Parsons makes it a condition for him remaining in Dallas
Never heard of a player doing that. Might have done it, like Brady with Garoppolo, but it wasn't anything but conjecture.

These players don't care enough about winning to make such stipulations. If the money is right; everything is right.

His Twitter will start the tale of the end of # 4.
Imagine being the highest-paid player in that locker room and in turn, being the one usually responsible for another playoff loss.
These are men, not children (where everyone gets a trophy lol) and they want their share of the glory train as the money is not enough.
Now do the math.......just a matter of time when fingers are pointing in the locker room at Prescott!

don't know about you 75 but if we win anything it has to be with dak or it doesn't count.

Yeah bro,
The Dak faithful don't too much like the back-up's 5-1 record because that takes away from them being able to say "we can't win without Dak", and they can't deal with that reality, lol.

Parsons seems plenty ticked off and perhaps is the one dude on the team that absolutely hates losing.

There’s been a large number of fans pulling against Dak ever since he took over for Romo. They wanted him to fail, so Romo would get his job back. Once we released Romo fans continued to pull against Dak. Never seen a more ridiculous fan base than this one. I don’t care who we have at QB as long as we’re winning games. I’ve never pulled against a player, especially our QB. I can’t relate to fans that do that. I’ve seen a few fans here get angry, because Dak played well and it led to a win. No group of dumber fans than this one.
