Nice, a selfish fantasy post.I'm a Cowboys fan. I own a Zeke jersey. I drafted him in the first round of my fantasy draft. It is possible to believe something that doesn't serve your desires when evidence dictates.
Let's talk tomorrow morning. Hopefully I will have been wrong and Zeke doesn't miss a game.
I tend to think Goodell was the wrong pick...but that's just me.From the NFL domestic violence conduct policy:
"Violations involving assault, battery, domestic violence or sexual assault will result in a baseline six-game suspension without pay, with more if aggravating factors are present, such as the use of a weapon or a crime against a child. A second offense will result in banishment from the NFL."
Zeke just used his one free strike. A second and he's out of the league forever. We've already seen how much control the NFL has over this process, and that won't be changing anytime soon.
Zeke had character flags on draft night, and we've seen them come to fruition. His parents said they were worried about him handling fame. His college coach said he's worried about him. Joey Bosa had to change roommates because Zeke partied too much. There were rumors of drug use, which text conversations all but confirmed. The writing was on the wall. The risk was too great.
On the field, Zeke is special and absolutely worthy of the investment. But how can anyone here feel good knowing that the next time the league decides he assualted someone, he's out of the league for good? And that's all it takes: the league deciding it happened.
If Zeke's lawyers pull out a miracle, I'll gladly eat my words. But if Zeke is truly is on his last strike, he's wasn't worth the investment. He has a lot of growing up to do and no margin for error.
he's wasn't worth the investment.
Anyone who was against the pick has been having a field day...
Lol drugs at a top school in the country and one of the biggest stars at the school at 20 years old....you don't say....how many players did hard drugs that didn't admit it do you figure?Nah... It's just one thing after another.
We found out he was doing hard drugs at OSU.
His name is just always in the headlines for something stupid.
I understand that a lot of this stuff is nothing but all of this stuff that is nothing is why the NFL is after him.
It's just magnified now. If you take this approach I can promise you over half of the 90's team was a bad pick. Those boys could really get into some stuff. Michael Irving is somewhere saying holy crap i'm glad I played when I did. From the NFL domestic violence conduct policy:

You are pretty naive.Nah... It's just one thing after another.

I know this is not going to be very popular but, If it had been in the 80's and 90's and you were at a Marti gras type event and this girl did have beads around her neck she had been collecting. We all know how you get them or the gist if you have them and around famous people. If the top comes down...well, i'll just say you had put your self in a very unfavorable environment if you are offended by any actions that might occur. I'm still not saying what Zeke did was right, but if you walk into town with steaks strapped around your neck a stray dog or two might follow you around. just sayin. It's obvious to me that the NFL could and would do this with virtually any player that likes to party. Particularly a Cowboys player.
It just seemed to me from the get-go that this was about Goodell showing who had the real power in the NFL and was going to make an example.
Part of it is the overreaction to the St. Paddy's Day incident and the fact that Gronk has done the same thing and they never mention it.
The NFL keeps mentioning the St. Paddy's Day incident which is not only hypocritical, but has nothing to do with the case at hand. Why make such a big deal out of it? Why have a double standard over it?
Because it's the best player on the Cowboys...that's why.
YR
This.If the suspension holds then no pick is the right pick because they can do the same thing to any player.
I'm hoping like crazy that this is a wakeup call for him. I don't think he ever expected this.I think this incident will be forgotten fairly quickly if he stays out of trouble. The big question going forward is, can he? I'm not so sure....Zeke staying out of trouble is probably going to be like Jerry staying off the booze. Ain't happenin'....
Not officially. There is pending litigation, or do you want to ignore that right now, to support your narrative?Zeke is currently on strike 1,
