If the suspension holds, Zeke was the wrong pick

You said only 6 games and not a career. I'm pointing out that strike 2 is career ending.
You have taken an absolute beating in this thread my man.
You kind of asked for it a little.

You say you want a conversation about Zeke. I'm down with that. I understand where you are coming from and that is part of what has so many of us upset over the way the NFL has handled this. Zeke has a giant target on his back moving forward. He wont be able to spend the night with a lady without fear that she will make something up and try to extort money from him with the threat of ending his career. It sucks for him really.
Where we differ is that I don't blame Zeke for him being in this position as much as I blame the league.
The league has turned into a bad reality show where no talk, gossip, ratings, shock story is considered bad. When you are on the most visible high profile team you have a big target on your back......
You dont believe me and think this is just paranoid cowboys fan talk?
Ok then what the status of the LeSean McCoy suspension/investigation?
He is currently being sued by 2 police officers for beating them to a bloody pulp after leaving a club...the league is silent.
He is also being sued by a woman who claims he and his boys punched her in her face and threw her off of a party bus on the NJ Turnpike. The police have investigated both incidents and yet the league cant be bothered investigating. Or what about using the NFL and the Bills logo to solicit women for what looked like a rape bus trip where they had to submit their pics and leave their phones behind.....

Or what about Josh Huff? He has arrested for crossing the bridge in Philly with a loaded gun with armor piercing bullets and drugs...He was charged with serious crimes... What is the status of the leagues investigation into Josh Huff? There doesn't seem to be one....hmmm...

So any player we draft will be treated in ways that isnt fair to the cowboys fans.

So yes Zeke with only 1 strike left is a scary thought...The league can end his career at any point regardless of anything he does or doesnt do...But if you really think about it you will realize that its always been this way. Dak could be next... Seriously.

Just get ready for tomorrow morning sir and hopefully that hate and grandstanding will have left your heart by then.

I'm a Cowboys fan. I own a Zeke jersey. I drafted him in the first round of my fantasy draft. It is possible to believe something that doesn't serve your desires when evidence dictates.

Let's talk tomorrow morning. Hopefully I will have been wrong and Zeke doesn't miss a game.

He isn't missing Sunday's game soooo there's that.

Wait, so you're absolutely convinced that he's going to be suspended and you still drafted him in the first round of your fantasy league? That's reason enough to question your judgment.

I have said many times that the league has dropped the ball here. We shouldn't pretend to know what evidence they have--because we don't. But either way, I agree that it appears as though Zeke is being railroaded. What scares the hell out of me is that the NFL has the authority to do it again. And if they do, he's done.

I'm not happy about any of this. I'm not saying Zeke isn't a stud whose play is worthy of the pick (and more). I'm just saying that Zeke one strike 1 one is a scary, scary thought and has to be built into our valuation of him moving forward.

Keeps hanging on to "conspiracy" as Zeke's legal teams defense when it's been pointed out over and over again that it's for "Fundamental Fairness". He chooses to ignore that every time he's responded to.

I drafted him thinking the most likely outcome would be a reduction to 2 or 3 games. I was wrong. And trust me--I'm questioning my own judgement on that one.

Love Zeke. But I said at the time and I maintain that we should've drafted defense (Ramsey or someone similar) and taken Derrick Henry in the 2nd round

Zeke’s career arc (and the off-field issues it encompasses) has no bearing on whether or not he was the ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ pick.

Fair enough. I chose my words poorly. My main point was that our valuation of him moving forward should be significantly adjusted. Of course it's not fair for me to use hindsight (assuming the suspension holds) to suggest it was wrong at the time. Especially after the rookie season Zeke had. Even if we can agree that Zeke had red flags, that doesn't mean it is reasonable to suggest they should have seen a DV strike coming. I'll absolutely own that.

Really? Dez did a lot of stupid things and was a knucklehead..yet you supported him. Makes sense
So having a crazy *** girlfriend says you don't get it...okay...lol

Nah... It's just one thing after another.

We found out he was doing hard drugs at OSU.

His name is just always in the headlines for something stupid.

I understand that a lot of this stuff is nothing but all of this stuff that is nothing is why the NFL is after him.

And as for that DV I am almost certain he's innocent. That's the big thing. I think the other stuff put a target on his back and that's why Goodell and some of the other owners went after him.
