Jerry basically admitted when he bought the organization he had no idea what he was doing, so he hired the smartest football guy he knew in Jimmy Johnson.

Read what you said. You didn't have an idea when you FIRST started your career. That doesn't mean it's always like that...lol. I'm sure he has an idea after over 30 years of being on the job...lol. Smh
 
The reason it can't happen is because you have the self appointed gatekeepers of fandom, as absurd and impossible a crusade as that is to take up. You can tell who they are because they use phrases like "you're a hater". There's no coming together with people like that, because you will never pass their purity tests. They don't want you to pass it because they NEED someone to pick fights with.

This forum is the worst example of fandom in the league. The delusional thinking of many on here who actually believe they would be a better coach, GM, VP of OPs, etc. is staggering. Dunning-Krueger effect in full force.

Numerous posters were calling for us to tank at 3-5-1. Will we make the playoffs? Idk, but no real fan will ever hope their team loses.

I’ve done my best to ignore all the knuckleheads that post trash. Still adding to the list, though.

Well, it easy for players to come together as they have no loyalty to the team as at least 25% of the players will change over, year after year. While us fans are stuck together for life.

So we know what we like, know what we are use to and for the most part we know football.

Not even true. A "real fan"(whatever that really is) hopes for the best outcome.

Do you want Ryan Leaf or Payton Manning? If you're sitting on the last game of the season, and if you lose you get Payton and if you win you get Ryan, you are going to hope we win? Why, so you can satisfy your little pleasure numnums? Wouldn't you want to become super bowl contenders?

And just who are you to judge how someone wants to be a fan? Why do you feel it is your right to play god? Maybe you should let people be fans in the way in which it suits them best?

Because we haven’t won consecutive playoff games in 30 years, we average one wild card win every 7 years, and that’s the ceiling with Jerry as the owner and GM.

I’m proud of this team this year so far, but until we win consecutive playoff games, It’s just business as usual. 30 seasons of playoff futility has a way of numbing hard core fans and I’m beyond numb.

I never said I ‘have a handle’ on things. Obviously, a criminal act (throwing eggs is criminal, I suppose) is very different than a stupid comment on a message board. You think that if the Cowboys won a SB that the tone and tenor of this board would change the following year after we played a bad game? It wouldn’t. Look no further than immature knuckleheads calling our DC names AFTER 3 straight games of fielding a top 8 defense and turning around that side of the ball.

There are many miserable souls that post here. No amount of success is ever going to make them happy. A statistically top 5 QB in the league? Nope, loads of anti-DP posts daily.

The worst, though, are the legion of idiots who think they ‘know football’ better than the coaches, players, and ownership. Not a single one does, but they’re too dense to understand that.

To your exact point, though, you may be right. I don’t look at other forums except for a particular game day thread archived by the Eagles that I look at any time we beat them. Maybe all fan forums look like ours…I don’t know. I know that there were several posters calling for us to tank when we were 3-5-1. You’re free to disagree, but true fanatics don’t hope their team loses in the middle of the season. I can’t abide that. Maybe you can.
