If the team has come together why can't the fans?

Because half the people in here are fans of other teams LIKE MYSELF.

But then even us true EAGLES fans are highly opinionated. Even with us real EAGLES fans, it's not just gonna be year after year of "rah rah rah, everything is great!" (As much as Jerry would like that)

We're all IGNORANT fans... and have strong opinions as far as what needs to be done.

Otherwise, it would just be a bunch of sheep, or robots. NOW EXCUSE ME WHILE I GO EGG MY COACHES HOUSES
Fixed it for you...

That is a different discussion point, and you are contradicting what you have said previously
I’ve been very consistent over the years on what a hater is. Go do your research before lying and also please show me the contradiction. I guarantee you won’t find anything different. You’re a newbie here so research before sticking foot in mouth again.

Not even true. A "real fan"(whatever that really is) hopes for the best outcome.

Do you want Ryan Leaf or Payton Manning? If you're sitting on the last game of the season, and if you lose you get Payton and if you win you get Ryan, you are going to hope we win? Why, so you can satisfy your little pleasure numnums? Wouldn't you want to become super bowl contenders?

And just who are you to judge how someone wants to be a fan? Why do you feel it is your right to play god? Maybe you should let people be fans in the way in which it suits them best?

If you're going to ignore all the knuckleheads, are you going to ignore yourself?
Lol! If losing would guarantee you get a Payton over Ryan, the league would have 32 teams tied at 8-8-1....

why can't the fans? I've never seen so much negativity after every win then from Cowboys fans...especially this site. They are going to win and they are going to lose. If you're a true Cowboys fan, you support them....period! This group is special....and I don't mean that in a good way. Kudos to the fans that are true ride or die fans. You know who you are. Give yourself high fives....lol
Based on the original title on why fans don't come together like players...

It comes down to the source of your interaction with the team.

In both cases, Jerry Jones.

Players get a check from Jerry. So they tolerate much more than fans do because he is the source of the groceries in their fridge. In order to tolerate your working condition you try as much as you can to find the positives and rally aroudn the work place you exist in. No different for the players. You often hear from ex-employees I liked the people I worked with, but I couldn't stand the company and the boss.

Fans don't get any monetary gains, so they interface with the team through public channels. If you want the fans to rally more around the team and the players then give us public channels that aren't being shone through Jerry Jones.

If most of our engagement channels was through general Cowboys sources, and not tied to a personality - Jerry, Stephen, Mickey, etc I think you would find the polarization of this team lessen and just focus on the wins and the losses.

The problem is Jerry and his need to express his ego as an owner that polarizes the team. At one time most casual fans of the league would have associated the Cowboys with the logo and brand. If we did a visual identification experiment of a 100,000 casual sports fans it would not surprise me that an image of Jerry Jones would be more strongly associated with the words Dallas Cowboys than the actual star logo.

Why can't most fans rally around the brand? Why is there so much polarization in the fan base. It's pretty obvious to me.

Yet, here we are... and Jerry is smiling.

LOL, a newbie!! Good one. You are nothing but a troll; no research is needed by anybody on here to call you out for who you are.

Ah, the old change of directions to hide the logic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No one has said there's any guarantee. See the fault there!!!!!!

Losing for us led to Aikman, Emmit, Irvin, Maryland, and a host of other players!! Hey, I have an idea, let's win a couple more games in 1988!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tim Worley would've been just as good as Aikman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's the nature of fandom, dude. And it's the fruit grown from the seed of complete distrust in the owner/GM. The little hot streaks here and there almost serve to add to many fans' cynicism, as we know that Jerry will bask in the "glory" and feel justified in his terrible ways because of any small amount of short-term success.

Yup.

This next draft will show if Jerry has really changed his mind and now wants to win. If we don't fix S and LB in the offseason, then he does not want to win, it's not more complicated than that.

I get all that, still don't like to lose. Not every team that wins a SB has to go 1-15!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Apparently, some people are ok with losing, even if there is no guarantee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe, they just like to be spanked, once in a while!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for sharing your thoughts.....oh, sorry, thought you were coogs.....oops

Absolutely, no doubt. However, all teams that win a super bowl have players from the top of the draft.

It's like this, I'm fine w/ losing if there is a plan in place to get into contention. To me, getting into super bowl contention is everything.

On this site, fans have this weird little thing going where they have a strange little desire to find a way to put others down. It's really sick if you think about it. So, if I'd rather go 3/14 than 6/11, I'm a bad fan and they act incredulous that I'm not rooting for wins.

Absolutely no one(except weirdo Rambo) denies that it's better to pick toward the front of the draft. Why? Because if you pick 20th as compared to 10th, there are 9 players that were available to you at 10 that are no long available at 20. Very simple math.

And see, this is where the spatting comes in as I now say: "apparently some people don't want to win a super bowl". Need some top players to win a super bowl, there is your guarantee.

You sound like you woke up yesterday

Most of us have seen this story before

Now beat the Chiefs and Lions and then people will come on board
Winning cures all. I have to admit a few weeks ago I was ready to lynch Jerry and blow the whole thing up. But ghe Q trade was game changing. And I have to give Jerry credit. Maybe he got lucky but adding the picks and two studs in the middle of the defense was great work by the GM

Top draft picks are great, if it happens....personally, I don't and hope I never get to the point that I would want to lose. I can't control the draft or anything else....all I can control is what I root for, winning makes me happy, I want to win this week, and worry about next week or next year when that time comes. Go Cowboys!!!
BTW, just between us, I just want to win, to piss off the haters......the same reason I defend Dak and Jerry....lol. don't tell anyone..ssshhhhhh

There is a difference between wanting to lose and knowing that losing is the best route.

That's good stuff though!!!!

Very simple.....there's a buffet of opinions (subjective and objective), theories, hate, love........too much to ask for fan unity on any thread posted.......and that's the beauty of this board.
