Not for me and I tell you why.. Even tho Tony is NOT at fault for the shortcomings of this Franchise for the last 10 years. I'm glad that the new era (Dak&Zeke) has bought in a new level of excitement and attitude. Even tho they might not win it all this year at least I don't get that feeling that the sky is going to fall in at any second. As a whole the whole franchise gives me confidence going forward. So it's bitter sweet to see him go. I'm happy that the era he represents is in the rear view mirror.

lol, so true, I love Tony but damn, I get stressed out when he is playing QB, my nerves are so calm with this rookie, its amazing and wonderful.

Look at the numbers dude. People like Romo are constantly discriminated against in the NFL. Look at the player demographics. Despite the vastly superior experience and loyalty to their team. If he lights it up and proves he is the man, he needs to put the boy back on the bench and the kid needs to show respect and tell the team Romo is more deserving.

Dak Prescott is a man. Get out of here with that ********.

I'm sad if this is Romo's last action as a Cowboy, but in the best interest of the TEAM we need it to be just that. We need to finish the fight the way we started it, with the rookie at QB.

Tony will be remembered for keeping the franchise afloat .... He's the reason we even went 8-8 and but for Crayton stopping on a route during the Giants playoff game a possible real run at a SB....

I have enjoyed watching romo these last ten years. I will not miss his boneheaded interceptions that he had in some must win games. every qb throw ints but romo seemed to sometime pick the worse time to do it. I hope that he has success with another team in the future but not against us. I wish he could make the hall of fame but I am afraid that his lack of playoff success will not let that happen.

Last game won't be until the SB.
Ring of Honor for sure but the anti Cowboy bias liekly keeps him out of the hall. I will miss him. He was the only reason to watch this team for almost a decade
Yep.

He's going to have one helluva highlight reel.....

Some people root for the players and the Laundry

Yeah. While I want the team to win, I grow attached to the players. The team is s brand, the guys playing are where the heart is. Gonna miss Tony. Love Dak, but it's tough seeing Tony left out in the cold watching this magical season from the sidelines.

Romo is THE most disrespected and underappreciated person to play professional sports.
I'm not certain about "THE most" but an argument can be made that he has been and is close to that status. It should be pointed out that the Romo dissing has zero to do with Prescott. None. Zip. Prescott has shown enough ability in his very short career that it's possible to project him as a future Hall of Famer.

No, this is totally about the criticism Romo has been (and still is) about the excessive unwarranted criticism he has endured throughout his career. This is about the criticism that has been and is above and beyond logical football related evaluation. This is about criticism birthed outside the realm of common sense. This is about comments made by particular fans, media and even individuals who play and coach or have played and coached the game themselves. And lastly, it has been and is, in many cases, about hypocrisy itself.

I don't know Romo's future. While I speculate what may happen, I don't pretend to even know his future. However, I hope he fulfills his dreams as long as his play on the field does not negatively impact the Cowboys in future head-to-head games. It would be something truly remarkable if he accomplishes his goals before he returns to the Cowboys and retires--regardless whether anyone, literally anyone, cares or not.

For someone that somehow is more associated with losing than winning by some fans, here's some polar opposite trivia truth.

He's one of the only NFL QBs that has NEVER guided his team to a losing record when he was the QB for most of the season.

Here are the team records in those years
9-7
13-3
9-7
11-5
8-8
8-8
8-8
12-4

I've never looked it up, but I wonder if he is ONLY QB besides Brady that can say that.
Probably not, but it has to be close.

I'm torn on this one. Love watching him play and very sorry to see him go out this way. Am I the only one who's going to cringe a bit to see him getting garbage time snaps in front of a home crowd that never really gave him the respect he deserved over the course of his career? It'll be a nice moment, I'm sure. And Tony will handle it gracefully as he always does. But the disingenuity of it all is going to stick in my craw, too. I'd much rather he go out in meaningful action somehow (not wishing injury on Dak, though). Failing that, as a fan I'd rather not see him play again in Dallas at all.

If he does, he DESERVES his job back. He has to stop bearing the burden - it is unfair and discriminatory.
Why, because Tony has some Mexican heritage?:lmao:

Sorry he's not Native American, so you can go back to your Commanders fan board Stryker:lmao2:

Where do people come up with stuff.
Anyway, Tony and our new stud QB have each others backs.
The relationship is fine

I still think the prudent move is to keep Tony around. Dak looks like the future, but so did RG3, Vince Young, David Carr, Byron Leftwich, Rex Grossman, Colin Kaepernick, and countless others.

Not sure Romo would be agreeable, but he is under contract, and Dak is incredibly cheap right now.

Romo is my favorite Cowboy player ever. Im in my mid twenties, so i dont remember the original triplets.

He seemingly kept us in every game and was a magician back there in the pocket.

One of the most under appreciated players of all time.

AND sometimes he kept the opposing team in the game too!

Is it ever wise retaining a player who would prefer playing else, especially if that player is highly respected by his current franchise management? Additionally, would the general manager in this particular case truly desire doing so?

Please let's relax with the Crayton stopping short on a route talk. The game is 60 minutes. We lost to a team we swept in the reg season. We lost at home as a #1 seed. Own it. Anything else is loser talk. Those 8-8 teams were talented enough and projected to do more, not go 3-13.

Every quarterback has done the same at moments during their careers. The question here is how often Romo kept opposing teams in games in direct relation to how often his teammates and coaches kept opposing teams in games through their actions and/or inactions?
