If Young is our QB, what would you think ?

You'd be hard pressed to have a worse game, given the dink and dunk game plan. But he has MOXIE!!!

Fair enough.
My point was that by pointing out Cutler you made it something that it's not. All QBs get over scrutinized. That's where you were dead wrong.

its way too early to tell anything about him and anyone that says otherwise is either being a blind homer or a blind hater...he made a couple of nice throws but our defense made things ALOT more easy for him than alot of the defenses he will face this year...I cant imagine another team he plays that we'll see the stat posted sometime in the 2nd half "Young under pressure, no sacks, no hurries, no hits" as we did today at one point

he has alot of stuff to work on...I suspect he's going to experience ALOT of growing pains and ugly games the remainder of the year

Geeezus...I was actually agreeing with you.

But feel free to carry on.

When I agree with someone after they've set me straight I usually acknowledge that I was wrong.

But that's just me. By all means, change the subject and carry on.

Right....

And I wasn't wrong, I agreed with you on that last statement you made. As I stated, some people wont like him no matter what he does.

I wouldn't be disappointed.....but I'd have to wait and see how he plays on Madden 2008 before making a final judgement.

Some will like him no matter what he does too. It's called Longhorn fever. It has side effects.

That's all I'm saying.

However it turns out for him.... HE got his first start on the grand stage.... against America's Team. Alot of eyeballs on that game.

vince needs work but he's in a good situation being with jeff fisher and norm chow. they will bring out what's best about vince young.

you can't coach God-given ability like size, speed, and strength. young has those qualities in abundance. and you can tell he's a natural-born leader.

he threw a pass into triple coverage today that got my attention. his receiver was working right-to-left in flat 20 yards downfield. with the rush baring down vince literally threaded the needle - and i mean that ball got there in hurry flat and tight. true NFL arm.

young also has the strength to fend off passrushers with a stiff arm. he may not be mike vick-quick but he he is obviously more rugged than the QB he's most often compared to. he's more like his predecessor mcnair.

if i was tennessee - i'd be plenty juiced about the guy. he should be a good one for years.

I was actually impressed with his poise. He did some things very well, but he also made some rookie mistakes. He will be a good QB in the future.

I'd be thrilled if he was our QB...he made 3-4 rookie mistakes in judgement, but he showed his elusiveness, continued to look downfield, found receivers, showed he can make great throws, and he moved his team up and down the field at times.

I think the kid played great for a rookie...they are going to have a very good situation in HOuston for a long long time.

He already looks better than Alex Smith ever looked at any time last season, and Alex Smith is looking like the real deal in his 2nd year, despite yesterday's blowout.

At times he looked really good and other he looked like a rookie.

When his line gave him time he made the correct throws and he made some plays when he was given the chance. I think he will be a great NFL QB someday and the Titans made a great choice. He still a few years away but he is going to be alot more than a bus driver someday.

With it starting a new era, are you disappointed ?

I would think it is going to take some time for him to develop. Young floated a lot of balls yesterday and that shotput motion needs to be worked on. This is not the NCAA and guys are not going to be as wideopen on this level as it was in college also the closing speed of CB in the NFL is much better than what Vince faced. I hope the best for Young because I think he is a good guy but I think another year of college ball would have helped him.

Of course, he was a much better college QB than Vick.

I think that's a bit of an exaggeration.

Vick was unbelievable in 1999. As a freshman, he absolutely carried an average Virginia Tech team (way less talent than last year's Texas team) all the way to an undefeated regular season and a National Championship game where he single-handedly kept Tech competitive against Florida State. And he finished 3rd-- again, as a freshman -- for the Heisman.

I'm no VT fan or Vick fan, but there's NO WAY you can say Young was "much better" than Vick in college. Maybe slightly better, but that would be it.

notice how you said vick carried them to the championship. Young did both, carried and passed them to the nat champtionship :)

Good observation on Smith. The same can be said for Losman for the Bills. Guy looked lost as most rookies and young QBs do and now this season, looks like he is getting it. Young's development may follow that same path.
