We need to stop with this delusion that this team is ready to contend for a title. No, this team as it is today is what it's record reflects, good enough to beat really bad teams but not good enough to beat average to great teams.

I was hoping better from Dalton. He just wasn’t good. Dad’s been under pressure all season as well and always brought the team back from 14 or 21 points to give the team a chance. With Dalton, you could see he just can’t do what Dak does. He’s the QB so I’ll keep pulling for him.

I decided to take the year off from watching any professional sports and it appears I picked the right year.

But I still do enjoy reading this board for the most part. From what I've read this year, this seems like a great post. I've been against giving Dak the big money, but it does appear I have underestimated him. It does sound like he covers a lot of warts.

Now they have to decide if it's worth paying him big money when you have most of the team that needs rebuilt. Will be interesting on how it all plays out.

The line made mistakes for sure. But the cards really didn't see Dalton as a threat to run, so they brought pressure.

They brought pressure because the oline was breaking down and letting defenders get a free run at Dalton.

Despite all the chaos, Dalton had the team on the move than Zeke fumbles on consecutive drives, followed by a holding penalty and a no call PI on the int.

lol, Dalton has always been an average to below average QB in this league who throws picks. This was exactly what I was expecting last night.

This. Dalton looked last night how he did his whole career in Cincy. Sure last night wasn’t completely his fault. But it wasn’t in Cincy either.

Either way, he’s just a guy.

Dalton looked like a guy who belongs as the backup. Not good. Slightly better than horrible given the line play. If the team around him was a little better than average, we could probably be a 500 team.

Other teams have to respect Dak's arm and legs. He masks the weaknesses of those around him. For the most part, Dak has played behind the same line and still had the pundits talking about how great they are/were. That narrative is over.

I actually hope we keep Dalton long term as the backup. But anyone who still thinks Dak isn't the real deal...it has nothing to do with his on field play. (I still think it's a mistake on Dak's part not to do a team-friendly deal)

Guess I’m blind then. He was by far not the only problem but he was pretty horrible. After a few drop backs and constant blitzes he should’ve figured out he needed to get the ball out quicker but he didn’t. He took some horrible sacks where he easily could’ve gotten rid of it. He surprised Zeke a few times one resulting in the first fumble. There was one all out blitz the Cards ran where even I saw the presnap hot route but Andy did not. He only needed a two step drop and hit that hot route and the WR easily scores, no one any where nearby. The WRs were clearly frustrated and clearly open a lot but Andy kept hanging onto the ball. I thought much more highly of Dalton before this game and AZ isn’t a very good team. I don’t think we win that game with Dak but maybe not a blowout.

I look at the facts.

How many games has Prescott played without all of the following lineman over the past 4-5 years?

Tyron Smith (potentially a future Hall of Famer)
Zack Martin (potentially a future Hall of Famer)
Travis Frederick (All Pro)
La'el Collins (played like a Pro Bowler last season)

Once that question has been answered I then ask would you pay a quarterback circa $40 million a season with a decimated O-Line with even bigger warts on the defensive front?

Last night reinforced to me that we should tank, draft a rookie QB in the first round to ride that contract for 5 years and start all over again. Trade away any assets for future draft picks like the Dolphins did last season.

The scary thought is that I still think we will win the division if we want to. The other teams in our division are poor and the Cardinals are a good team - the loss was exaggerated by not having an O-Line (may as well just had nobody standing in front of Dalton) and Elliott gifting a good team 14 points. In reality the game was done once Martin went down but any small hope went when Zeke dropped the ball twice. But what's the point winning the division as we have no chance in the play offs with guys flipping burgers in the O-Line and a defense that is more open than the Indian Ocean.

On to Zeke and this goes to coaching. I said when he was appointed that McCarthy is a second hand car salesman. I remember many years ago after a New York Giant Running Back had fumbled the ball in a game, in the following game Tom Coughlin (yes two time Superbowl winning Head Coach) made the running back stand on the side line holding a ball under his arm for the entire game. It's called having accountability. Why wasn't Zeke given some sort of punishment for fumbling the ball in previous games? As a result he coughed it out on a couple more occasions last night.
