Any updates on the 3 Texas players you have would be great (Crowder, Selvin Young and DD Lewis). I see they all had decent games against SF. Is Crowder ok? I saw he got a little dinged in that game.
Crowder will make the most immediate impact. He has been a solid worker and very teachable. He's also a high character kid and should be very good for us (especially in the run-happy AFC West). Honestly, next year is a contract year for Ekuban, and Crowder is the same type of guy. If Eb wants a lot of cash, they will probably dump him and keep Crowder. Although, Ebeneezer was one of our best D-linemen last year (and also a good guy). BTW, the injury was just a shoulder stinger. He still played the rest of the game (also notched a sack).
Selvin Young has shown some real promise. I think he will get a few carries in the fourth quarter this Saturday. Since we have some decent depth at RB, I don't know if he will make the active squad, or be on the practice squad this year. RB promotions are always one injury away on any team. But, I have only heard positives about him - he hasn't been fumbling which is a good thing.
About DD Lewis. There have been 3-4 guys fighting it out for our last LB spot and DD is one of them. They have been switching the depth chart around regularly to keep them all motivated. His spot is still up for grabs but he will need to make some big plays to crack the starting lineup. It is my belief he will be a reserve LB & ST player this year.
