I agree. Get him involved even if you have to hand the dam ball to him. LOL

I say Roy make a gamewinning catch next week or the week after that ;)
Romo wouldn't throw him the ball if the game was on the line.

Maybe I missed it, but where is this guru's "I'm done hating on Romo" thread? That is what he spends a good percentage of his time doing while he pays his membership fees to the T.O fanclub.

"Guru", do you still actually believe that Romo isn't a top 10 QB?
Can you see how wrong you've been all along or are you waiting for the Cowboys to slip up and then pour all of your "I told you so" hate and blame on Romo if that happens?

I'm waiting for you and McCordsville to admit how wrong you've been.

It's such a shame that the guy can't seem to get it turned around. I want to believe he'll be a playmaker for us and get on the same page with Tony and stuff but it doesnt look like it's going to happen this year at all.

Can anyone say how Romo ranks now that the season is all wrapped up? I'd have to believe he set a few Cowboys records this year.

He set the yards passing record this year - broke his own record.

The other team will reduce focus on Roy and that is when Romo will throw it to him.

I can't state for certain, but I'd be willing to bet that defenses focus quite minimally on how to stop Roy Williams to begin with.

Williams is literally fourth in production, in terms of receiving yards, on the team... Austin, Witten and Crayton all have more.

they can't reduce their focus on him anymore. He is already covered by the #2 CB without any extra help much of the time.

If Roy Williams is a true team player he will understand that that right now he is not cutting it. He should step aside "for the betterment of the team" to help his team that give them the best chance to win.

This should light a fire under his butt and he will have all offseason to fight to get his spot back and to prove hmself. I have no doubt he will, but right now is not time to make noise.

This is the difference between T.O. and Williams. Williams is a team player.

On a side note i think the same can be said for Colombo. Right now the team is running smooth. There is no reason to disrupt the line.

Speaking as someone who has been sidelined with injury recently, sitting around not engaging in your normal daily physical training routine definitely shows when you DO start working again. There is no way Colombo stayed in game-shape for 6-7 weeks with a broken leg.

I'm not sure I understand what you are saying...that RW shouldn't be starting? That he should give his spot to Crayton? The guy isn't always on the field for crying out loud, and when he was wide open for a TD Tony threw the ball once out of bounds and once for an INT (I think that was the play).

I know he's made his share of mistakes but he's playing hard and saying all the right things.

i agree...anything to get the pigskin in his hands. jimmy johnson knew when to tromp a player, and when to instill some confidence into a sagging ego: this one fits into the latter category...

Its obvious that for whatever reason Tony and Roy are not on the same page. This has caused Tony to lose confidence in Roy and Roy to lose confidence in himself. All im saying is Roy realizes this and HAS chosen to take the high road and not complain and whine. And that shows he is a true team player.

Im not saying he plays every snap. But the snaps that he is playing are hurting the team. One is because they are not on the same page and Tony is not even looking his way. Two is because the other teams know this and hes not a threat. Why would you want to to waste one of your spots on the field?

Its obvious the Cowboys will keep him on the roster because he making too much money. But he needs to realize he cant get mad because he had his shot. Right now the team should be playing their best 11 players on offense that give them the best chance to win. Right now that does not include Roy Williams.

Rather the moan and complain i believe he WILL take the high road and suck it up. And that what a true team player does. Unlike T.O. who would be disrupting the locker room at this very moment.

While I prefer his current behavior to some of his earlier crap ("#2 gets his balls thrown perfectly to him, blah, blah, blah"), I will say this...

Once you've exhausted every excuse known to man and anyone with even ONE working eye can see even a LITTLE, I'm not inclined to pat him on the back for finally stating the obvious.

Better late then never, but he's not getting any medals from me.

These threads remind me so much of the old Roy Williams #31 threads. So many hoping that he would magically revert back to pro bowl but seeing him get worse instead. Next comes the "blame it on the scheme." Then comes the "blame it on lack of desire." After that it is "acceptance that he just isn't all that good," followed by the "confusion as to how he got so bad so fast and is still young." Lastly will come the "cut your losses and move on."

Same name; same story.

Don't forget the stats to prove he aint all that bad. :lmao2:

I was thinking the same thing with the link between Roy Williams the safety and Roy Williams the receiver. Maybe we need to stop pursuing guys named Roy Williams.

Part of the problem may in well be that is he is playing so close to home. The additional pressure...

I know this theory has been touted before (granted, in basketball, mainly...). An example was Wade early on in his career when he'd come to Chicago.

He didn't seem to have that problem with Detroit when they beat the Cowboys in 2006.

Adam and Theo were two of the football stats guys who defended our first Roy Williams pretty much up until the end.
I can't remember all the stats those two quoted to suggest he wasn't really all that bad in coverage but I never really bought it. He just looked like he had lost something in ability to cover, deliver big hits and generate turnovers. He also almost seemed to lose his love of the game. I didn't see any of Cinci's games so I don't know how he was doing until he got injured again.

This RW the second looks even more washed up than the first RW was at the end of his stint here. I really think RW11 is actually performing at a lower level now than Sam Hurd (for everything outside of TDs) which is hard to believe and I'm not some big Sam Hurd fan. Heck, even in that area he got a pure 1-on-1 against Sheldon Brown in the red zone and couldn't take advantage - bet his sheeple blame that one on Romo, though.

I'm pretty sure that RW11 is done - just like the first one. Got his big paycheque and then nothing on the field anymore.

Don't worry about Jerry - he'll find some way to drag an extra $30M out of us fans. I really don't even care so long as we get another SB soon.
