I'm not letting this coaching staff off the hook just because we won

All signs point to bad coaching defensively.

All these blown assignments are a joke.

This defense desperately misses McClain and Lawrence.

Bad coaching or just bad players? I think it really is 70% players 30% coaching. We don't have the horses up front to keep OL off the LB's. Secondary is just OK but today was mismatch for us because of Washington's speedy WRs.

Of course.

But when it becomes part of how you play a game, it is a problem.

Seems like that is close to becoming an expectation instead of a pleasant surprise.

It's gotten so bad that making a team punt almost feels like a INT or Fumble.

From posters on this site? Absolutely.
Nothing surprises me at this point. Dak needs to get Dez out on the practice field and repeatedly run the back shoulder throw. That's easy points when Tony gets down there.

I expect the defense to give up at least 3 on each drive. I am a sinner...:D

What is this.. Year 3 of Marinelli and year 4 in this defense?

I say bad coaching... At the very least he should have guys in position to make a play. We got busted coverages everywhere and constantly let teams chew up the flats against us.

Coaching staffs are judged on wins and losses. This was a win; ergo, it's a step in the right direction. When your coaching staff can string more wins together than losses, you have a good one. We've got a ways to go before this coaching staff puts 4-13 and its overall .500 record behind it.

I had no problem with the onside kick. Unexpected onside kicks work 80% of the time in the NFL. Bailey just didn't execute.

I think we haven't gone deep that much because the TE's and Free aren't blocking long enough.

Today I would have like to have seen the screen play a couple more times and stop trying to beat Breeland on a fade pass in the end zone. He could stop those.

Might want to put Green in as an extra tackle and see if we can get the outside zone runs and play action going.

If Cousins doesnt throw a god awful pick the mood around here might be slightly darker.

The play you are referring to was poor recognition by the PLAYERS, specifically Carr. He should have carried the WR going deep instead of across when he had help. That's not on the coaches.

We don't run good plays for Bryant.. I don't know why. When was the last time he ran a drag route across the middle like TO? Fades and back shoulders require great timing and typically low percentage.

I'm not a fan of Merinelli either but let's be real...expecting him to turn crap soup into filet mignon is unrealistic.

I feel the defense has done well considering the lack of talent on that side of the ball. That's on Jerry not Rod.
That excuse is tired. You can be creative, or actually blitz, but instead we send the 4 JAGS we call a DL. And there's no excuse for receivers being open with no defenders within 10 feet; I don't care who you are.

Dez went 7-102 with several huge catches for first downs. This against what us supposed to be a great pass D.

100 yards receiving is much more rare than 100 yard rushing games

I am sure the coaches really care that YOU are not letting them off the hook. The onside kick was a good call since it would have worked if the kick had gone 10 yards. The play calling was good IMO. Kept the skins off balance a lot of times. They are putting Dak in positions where he does not have to force anything

Sign Pot Roast to plug the middle and Hardy to provide pass rush lol

Don't talk about the bad without mentioning the good.

4th and 1 at the Commanders 30... I expected Dan Bailey to come trotting out. Instead, we go for it AND go playaction... how's that for vanilla? Great play by Dak to move the chains, and we scored a TD on the drive.

And the notion that all we did on 1st down was run the ball is complete nonsense. By my count, we ran 30 plays on 1st down... 17 runs, 13 passes.

He's horrible..

I felt confident we would win this game just because of how bad he is.
