Yes this forum will complain about the sun rising!4 for 56 in the 1st half and 3 for 46 in the 2nd half. Are we seriously going to complain about a 7 for 102 yard game from Dez?

That I doubt, I can see multiple heated talks we are not hearingblame jerry all you want but he is only taking players marinelli is instructing him to based on who fits his seemingly uber specific defense.

It's gotten so bad that making a team punt almost feels like a INT or Fumble.
we won
awesome.These statements crack me up.
I thought Byron Jones was supposed to be the center field type of safety, he was not in position for those two passes that were over thrown. The coaches don't have him playing center field and Church is not in the box.Had DerkaKirk Cousins not overthrown a few times, we would have lost by at least 10.
Garrett's offenses have almost always struggled in the redzone, going back to when he was OC. We can't keep settling for FG's. They need to be more creative in the redzone.
I'm straight up done with Marinelli. The guy has had one good season, and even then our defense was average, but had a ton of turnovers.

Feels like nitpicking. We passed a decent amount on first downs yesterday it seemed. I'd say pretty close to 50/50, and it 2014 I think we ran 80% of the time on 1st. I can't say Dez disappeared at all. In our last TD drive, he caught a big 2 and 14 pass, and then we went back to him again, on a 2nd and 10, but Norman did a great job of getting his hand in Dez's body and breaking up the pass. The TD drive before that he caught a 16 yard post or dig route on 3rd and 11. All in the 2nd half, all on big play where we were behind the sticks. He didn't disappear at all.It was good to see them use a play that was actually giving the defense trouble today with the bootleg but there is still too many problems.
Are we ever going to take advantage of 8 and 9 guys in the box on first down or are we satisfied with just letting them cheat on that play?
Dez completely disappeared again in the 2nd half... Why not give him some quick bubble screens on those first downs where they crowd the box.. He is one broken tackle away from scoring.
We all like the onside kick simply because our defense sucks but I think most of us can acknowledge it wasn't the right thing to do.
I'm happy we won but I still don't like this 50/50 brand of football we played.. Good to see these coaches get a win without Romo. (Against the same team they did it with last year)
Also, I can't help but ask myself why we totally skipped out on defense in free agency when watching these games. Our defense is so bad.
Because it's not the best way to use Dez.
We still don't put him in catch and run situations. Just like TO.
I'm glad they finally pulled their heads out of their ying yang and decided we need to target him more but they need to get Dez in catch and run situations.
Take advantage of those 8 and 9 man front's on first down by just simply running a slant route against man coverage. 1 broken tackle and its a touchdown.
2nd down.. Why does he have to clear out for Witten and Beasley? Let the guy drag across the middle and catch it and put his foot on the gas. DB's are terrified of this players RAC ability .

Was it perfect? No, but I think that given the outcome and we have a rookie QB and RB playing in the 2nd game, I think we played and coached very well.
I hate to even go there, but, I really think that with our youth this year, it really is a process. First game was awful, this game was better. Dez, bootlegs, etc. Hopefully we can build off of it and continue to improve.I just can't accept that.
I'm happy we won but I still don't feel like our best players are being put in the most optimal position to really give teams fits.
I think how they moved him around yesterday was a step in the right direction. If they do this for the remaining 14 games it gets him in favorable situations and he finishes with 1400 yards easily. I get what you're saying but it appears they're never going to alter the playbook to feature getting him the ball like a TO.

The onside kick will be forgotten since we won.
But it was a pivotal play in terms of momentum that put the D on the spot.
Thankfully, they responded.
All in all, in terms of posterity, this will not be a game you look back at and say, wow, we turned a corner.
It is more like, we really won?
I disagree. This was night and day as compared to last game. At least Garrett played to win this week and got aggressive. Got Dez moving around.
As far as Marinelli the guy has the worst talent in all the NFL to work with on D. Its a miracle we can even stop anyone.
