TECHMO Garrett is an ivy league idiot.

No feel for the game, no clue about 60 minute football.

blah same stuff

The Cowboys averaged almost 9 yards per carry. The Giants couldn't stop the run at all.

Yet, the Cowboys threw as may passes as they had rushing attempts on a night when Romo stunk.

John Madden always said, when he coached, he'd run a play until the other team proved they could stop it.

This SHOULD have been an ugly win with the Cowboys running the ball twice as much as passing it...

But of course, Garrett got pass happy again.

Yep, the defense blew it when we needed them to step up...BUT really, if the Cowboys were the Steelers, they would have passed the ball 15 times and run it 45.

Let me get this right. We put up THIRTY ONE FREAKING POINTS tonight, and you think the offensive coordinator didn't do his job?

We put up 31 points with 4 TURNOVERS, 3 by our consistently underwhelming QB in big time situations. And you blame the offensive coordinator?

How about blaming the stupid head coach who couldn't inspire his way out of a wet paper bag. Remember him? Defensive guru?

31 POINTS PUT UP BY AN OFFENSE THAT HAD STINKING QB PLAY TONIGHT.

33 points against us.

Who you blaming?

I think 9 times out of 10 Romo isnt oing to suck as bad as he did tonight. He always throws one of these types of games in there every now and again.

I didnt have any problem with the playcalling. If Romo had even been average tonight we wouldnt have lost. As it stands he just had a bad night.

Im more worried about the defensive play calling. Our lack of blitzing and inability to put pressure on the QB is making our secondary look pedestrian.

That's exactly right.

Play calling wasn't too bad. Execution and mental lapses were the problem. Along with getting rid of guys like Ellis who has 3 more sacks than this entire team. dispute that, please

Yep, that's exactly what I'm doing.

How many of those 33 points came off of Romo turnovers?

Sorry, I can't even come close to agreeing with you.

Play calling is also about controlling the game...this should have been a physical, NFC EAST, ground game type win.

Remember the long run in the 3rd quarter by Felix Jones. Well the offensive coordinator decided to call a pass play on the next play where the QB through an INT! They couldn't stop the run, yet the OC wouldn't commit to the run.

The defense can't pressure the opponent's QB and the DBs can't cover that long. That's the story on defense. On the offense, Romo had an awful night. He couldn't hit teh side of a barn.

Only WE could lose a game where we score 31 and rush for over 250 yards. We didn't even give up a sack. Romo's 2 picks were bad. They hurt. The one off the foot was a fluke. It was behind Witten but, let's be honest, that was freakish. It's not like he threw it to a defender or into double coverage. The Felix fumble was weak and it hurt as well.
The defense came up small, our QB didn't play well, and EVERY single bounce went the Giants way. All that adds up to a last second loss by a field goal. What a WASTE of an opportunity to get a big division home win.

My point exactly.... When you're running the ball that well, why are you trying to throw the ball with below average QB play????????????????

Hey..we ran for 8.7 per carry...over 250 yards...and lost the ball control game by seven minutes!

This game needed to be sloooooooooowed down....and THAT was Garrett's responsibility.

i cant stand this team sometimes....the pass is tipped and we still cant make a play on it, we play man 2 man...if we went zone we coulda got that
The worst part about that play was the reciever being so wide open, if our corner was with his man, he could have blocked it.....He was wide open..no guts and no heart this cowboy team...

Agreed. This is not on Garrett, unless people think he was telling Romo where to throw the ball.

its one thing to commit to the run but there has to be a semblece of balance. Its absurd to argue that we shouldnt have thrown at any point in the game. If Romo is the Romo of norm maybe he doesnt choose to throw the deep ball and instead completes something safer.

Lots of if ands or buts but the offense put up 31 points. If we cant win with 31 and we're blaming the OC then we are definately misplacing blame.

We scored 31 points tonight. Should 31 points win a game? We lost 4 possessions to turnovers. FOUR. We still scored 31 points tonight.

Guys in this forum (and I'm not talking about Juke, I find myself agreeing with him most of the time), have the same old fall backs instead of acknowledging what I contend are the real issues.

MOST:

*Blame Garrett
*Blame the offensive line
*Blame the receivers

I SAY:

*Its the GM
*Its the head coach

I don't have confidence that Romo is the real deal for Super Bowl runs, sorry, I just don't at this point. But I don't even make him the biggest explanation for what's wrong.

Jerry's way will get us a lot of TV exposure, but Super Bowls will take a real head coach, and to have one of those the GM will have to just be an owner and be satisfied with that. Sorry, it won't happen.

The Giants didn't stop the run once tonight, not once. But they didn't have to because at key moments in the ball game Garrett did that for them.

He put the ball in the hands of the guy who was having a bad night and took it out of the hands of the men who were dominating. I don't care how many points you rack up that's on the OC.

I'll give Garrett some of the blame, but we put up points mostly because of our RBs. They just happened to have some big gainers that kind of threw off the time of possession thing. Romo's 2 (one was a fluke) picks also killed us. The one off the foot obviously hurt, but that pass shouldn't have been picked - so I can't kill Romo for that one. Having said that, he was bad.

I feel sick about this game. I don't understand what's happened to this D. BUT, I'm going to say something positive about tonight. Our O-line played great. What was considered a possible weakness was actually the strength of our team tonight. There was some great blocking up front. I saw Kosier and Bigg with some excellent blocks. Even Roy W did some nice downfield blocking. Rush for over 250 yards, score 31 and give up no sacks to the Giants...and LOSE?! It defies all logic. I can't kill Garrett for this one. Too many other culprits that had a bigger hand in this disaster.

Barber runs for 100+ and Felix runs for just under 100 and we're calling deep passing plays in Giants territory up by 4?

I laughed out loud when I saw that.

Of course none of our 4 turnovers helped our cause tonight, but one in particular cost us the game IMO. We were ahead 24-20 and were driving. We had a first down around the 50 yard line and for some unknown reason, a play is called for Romo to throw a 40-50 yard pass that was intercepted because it was a terrible pass. We were absolutely killing the Giants on the ground and we gave the game away by trying to be cute. They hadn't stopped the run all night (and actually never did), but we had to try something else for some unknown reason. While Romo was terrible, I place the blame on Garrett for calling such a stuipd play. If we had just continued to run the ball and throw short passes, we would be celebrating a Win despite the turnovers.
