I'm pretty optimistic that we'll be drafting in top 10 next year

We went 5-1 in our division last year so that wasnt a problem, the problem came outside the division. This year, imo, our schedule is much tougher with having to play the NFC West, NO, Indy, Chicago and the Texans.

You never know but I don't see [right now] Chicago,Texans Indy as big deals. NFC West however will be a thumper.

I believe we are quietly building a run first team, that's the only way we can win and allow Romo to have a chance. Romo just drives the bus, the passing game becomes much easier when teams are struggling to stop the run. In the likely event Tony goes down with a injury, either of the back-ups can fill in and we won't skip a beat.

I am done trying to predict this teams record.

First and foremost, Romo is tough but even the toughest of men can be chopped down by back issues. Hopefully the surgery holds true. We shall see...

Secondly, Romo has developed quite the reputation for piling up stats during mundane periods of the season and building anticipation only to dash those hopes at the most inopportune times. Yes. Much of our recent issues have rested squarely on the defensive side of the ball. If your offense scores 30, more often than not you should win those games. Consistency in putting it together in all three phases has been an alien concept in Big D for the last several years.

Well see what happens.

In a 16 game season no period is "mundane." Wins in September count just as much as those in December do.

Way too much optimism from what I see...
Romo looks soft and fat in his latest photos...He's not getting any younger and his back is a trip to retirement waiting to happen.
The defense looks to have 5 or 6 rookies playing next year with a smattering of vets coming off injuries...what's not to like with that
scenario. I see a rough year coming up next year and I don't think we will smell 8x8. I see us drafting in the top 10 after the
giants and eagles wipe the floor with us...JMVHO of course.

I'm going out on a limb and predict we will be 0-0 before the season starts. It's risky, but I'm confident the team can pull that record off before facing the 49ers.

Let's see: We seem to have the rams number so we can hope to beat them. 1-3 vs NFC west
I think we have a shot at 4-2 or maybe 5-1 vs the division
NO has our number- simple as that. Texans I think we can take. Indy- I think we lose.
Chicago-Lose. Titans and Jags I think we beat 3-3
8-8 or 9-7

The Texans just had the first overall pick, Indy still doesn't really have much of a defense, I don't believe in the Saints at all, and I think the Niners are on the decline. We've also got softies like the Rams, Titans, and Jags. This year will be the same as others, beat the teams we should and there's no reason Dallas can't be in the playoffs.

I hope I don't see him take a hit. If he does, I know he will get up, wipe some dirt on it and try to play. Just like he did with a punctured lung, a broken collarbone and a ruptured disk.

I have no doubts about the boy's toughness. Just hope he doesn't have to endure that this year.

I wish I could like this a 100x. People forget this about Romo. People knock on him but they can't, justifiably, knock on his toughness or heart. He puts it all on the line for sure.

I can't tell if you're serious or just messing with us. You know, after a statement like this you're supposed to type /sarcasm ... so that we know. The Texans's defense is still bad to the bone and they just picked Jadaveon freakin Clowney. There is a very good chance Romo's season ends right there. Indy doesn't have a defense but they have Andrew Luck and have beat much better teams than us. Don't believe in the Saints? For real? They still have Brees, Colston, JGraham, AND just picked up the fastest WR in this draft. Their defense is top 5.... what's not to believe? Niners on the Decline.... um wow! Rams quite possibly have the absolute best defensive line in the NFL.... period. Titans and Jags, I'll give you but as optimistic as I am about our draft (every year at this time) their is a good chance that we will still have one of the worst defenses in the league again and I liked our draft for the most part. If we hit 8-8, we've had a good year.

You give those teams too much credit, IMO.

The Saints defense was good but the only talented offense they limited was Chicago who, I think, was playing without Cutler. Other than that, they had an absolutely cake schedule, at least in terms of the offenses they played against. In terms of fastest WR in the draft...how did Heyward-Bey turn out? I like Cooks, but just b/c he's fast doesn't mean his game will translate. Houston's QB, as of right now, is Ryan freaking Fitzpatrick and, not for nothing, Houston was 23rd against the run last year...they played 4 games against the Jags and Titans who didn't have any QB or passing game to speak of...that defense is and has been completely overrated since like Week 9 of 2012. The Rams could be good, but the jury is still out on Bradford. Indy has beaten good teams, they've also lost to some bad ones. The 9ers are on the decline, that defense is old and who knows if Aldon Smith will give them anything this year. Plus, Bowman is coming off of that awful injury...and Kaep, like it or not, is still a one read QB, and none of them have accomplished anything int he NFL. He was downright awful down the stretch last year.

So no, I'm not being sarcastic. Parity reigns and that's because every team in the league has serious flaws...except maybe Seattle.

.. that we will be drafting top 10 next year. That said, who besides Mariota and Winston will be available at 1-10?

We have a tougher schedule than last year and will be fortunate enough to see 8-8. 6-10 is more likely. There are sooooo many questions and so few absolutes going into training camp. This truly feels like a cleverly disguised rebuild. I'm sure there will be plenty that tell me I am sooooo far off base. It feels pretty accurate though.
Don't bet on it.

Top 10 means about 6-10.

Is that you're call then?

I think this team will be better than last year's. But at least up front, the schedule does look rough. Unless Romo goes down for more than a game, I still don't see a sub 500 season.

He's been the primary starter for 7 seasons and the worst they've had was 8-8....with last year being 8-7 with him under center.

They just made it through three seasons with a totally decimated lineup and somehow managed to play for (yet lose) the division title each time and go a mediocre 8-8.
I think they've already bottomed out.

4 winning season
3 .500 seasons
0 losing seasons

63-45 team record

The Texans 2013 season was an abberation, see the 2 previous seasons, with Clowney and Watts they will bounce back imo.
Indy is good and Luck will only get better with added weapons but we play them in Dallas so I like our chances but it will be tough
NO and Chicago, see last season.
SF the second best team in the league.
Rams we should win because I think that Bradford is a joke, but that team is one good qb away from being good.
Jags we should win.
Titans we should win but its in Tenn.

we will be lucky to get to 6-10 ... frankly the only games we are likely to be favored are the Titans and Jags. And both of those games are away games which we seem to always lose. im predicting 4-12.

lol....some just love living with a sky is falling mentality....eat more cookies and drink more milk, everything will be alright

If I would've read your post first then i would have saved my last post, to add, didnt Luck and the Colts beat the 49ers, Denver, KC and Seahawks last year.
