In fairness, how many quarterbacks have been as up-and-down as Romo?

As I mentioned in the post-game thread, if the media doesn't criticize Romo for his performance this week, they're shirking their responsibilities as journalists.

Their job isn't to find the silver lining or to express total, unquestioned devotion to Tony Romo. They're not paid to be zealous devotees of the Dallas Cowboys.

Where are the Matt Ryan articles? The Sanchez articles?

The media literally was asking the players in the locker room if they still believed in Romo today. How often does that happen after a regular season loss for QB's of other teams regardless of the circumstances?

Its really absurd how the perception of Romo can swing from week to week in the media (or on this board for that matter). He's never as good or as bad as they portray him.

You're making pretty lame excuses.

Romo threw the picks.

Whos making excuses?

Romo is by far a better QB than those two highly touted pedigree guys, wheres the media accountability for them?

I dont need to make excuses for Romo. He had a bad game but he's and awesome QB and whether you or anyone else like it, he's staying put.

What is written about other quarterbacks is completely irrelevant. All losses are different.

For a moment, let's pretend the Cowboys weren't involved in today's debacle. Let's pretend the culprit was some random team that doesn't elicit any strong emotional response in us. Here goes:

::insert team name:: has a 27-3 lead in the third quarter, and proceeds to lose the game after its quarterback throws a bevy of interceptions in the second half.

How would you write that headline?

I agree. The swings in perception are, indeed, absurd. However, the media isn't causing those swings. Romo is causing them with his erratic play.

Your cut the defense is an excuse. It deflects that Romo blew the game.

OHNO ROMO is the only who can change the perception about him. He has had 6 years to do it. People it's been 6 years! It keeps happening year in and year out. It's not going to change it is who he is. He lacks something. What it is I have no IDEA. I have never seen anything like it. Well McNabb has done this as well to be honest and he has taken it in the media as well. Everyone finally realized the Mcnabb would never win anything. Although he can at least say he played in the SB.

YUP it's actually pretty crazy. It's funny I actually think he played better last year before he got hurt. I know he had some bad INT's that bounced off of other players but man I think he has completely regressed.

It's getting less and less with each franchise record-breaking epic failure.

I feel bad for him that he's going to end up having the same OJT OC for 90% of his Cowboys career.

That's a great blessing. Most QBs would kill for that.

Also tell me that last time Brady dropped consecutive games??

Romo is not fit to tie Brady's shoe lace.

Poor comparison. :banghead:

2009 -- Week 17 against the Texans and then the Wild Card against the Ravens at home, where Tom Brady had four turnovers.

I am definitely 100% behind our quarterback. He puts us in the position to win every game, it just kills me that we have to go through these days where he absolutely rips your heart out.

I believe that we do need to constantly remind him of the game situation. this may be a completletely irrelevant thing, but sometimes I do wonder if his background as a point guard leads him to be a little less careful with the ball sometimes. It seems like the reward from a potential big play always outweighs the risk of a turnover with him. In basketball each turnover isn't as magnified as in football, and I do sometimes wonder if its just something he can't shake.

Romo says all the right things and for the most part he is able to carry it over to the games, it just seems that every once in a while we need someone to just remind him that in certain situations, being able to get out with a punt(from one of the best punters in the league) can be net win for the team. I believe that we will see him begin to trust our d and special teams as the year goes on as they seem to be performing well. Corresponding with this, I think as romo begins to trust the rest of the team more, we will be extremely happy with the results when we count up our wins at the end of this season.

Today definitely hurts, and this loss could potentially keep us out of the playoffs, but I still have faith in our quarterback, and I have faith in the Dallas Cowboys. Let's lick our wounds, get healthy, and begin preparing for the rest of the season. I think we will all be pleasantly surprised with how this thing turns out

Didn't Tom Brady throw four picks and choke away a 17 pt lead just last week?

It can sometimes happen to even the best QBs. I'm still absolutely behind Romo as well.

:lmao: You guys will never learn.

Please feel free to exit bandwagon. No please, really.

Oh dear, god forbid that a supporter can have an opinion that disagrees with the masses and all i want is success for our team and Romo will not give us this.

Feel free to discuss the issue properly instead of adding petty retorts and talking like you are the only person that supports the Cowboys.

I'm still trying to figure out why all of these "fans" don't just pick another team.

Because we are all passionate Cowboy supporters that want the best for our team and we are able to look past the one eyed glasses that so many are wearing right now.
