I'm worried we'll regret trading Ayodele

I worry about ALOT of things in life: my favorite team shipping driftwood off to Miami like him wouldn't make the top 100..................

After the Cowboys aquired Zach, I started watching some games to see why. I never noticed Akin playing bad or anything. Well, thats just it. He doesn't do much of anything. He gets caught up in the wash alot or arrives on seen a step or to late. If someone gets a hat on James they're usually going to get into the secondary.

I dont think Carp can be out Burnett as the #2 LB. But had like 3 less tackles than Akin had. I expect a lot of stuff from Burnett this year.

I think zack thomas will be a solid player for us this yr and KB and BC will be good backups for us not worried at all

Burnett is a freak athlete - Add Zack Thomas and SUBTRACT Amodel. Our Defense is better.

Am I the only one that things trading away Ayodele was a bad idea? He wasn't a top linebacker, but it seems to me that he was a solid one. Presumably replacing him is Zack Thomas, Kevin Burnett, and/or Bobby Carpenter. Thomas is coming off of a season-ending concussion, Burnett hasn't done much to prove he's not injury-prone, and Carpenter hasn't shown much to make anyone believe he isn't a first round bust.

This is a position that really concerns me.

I almost wonder if they weren't a little concerned about his attitude when he got demoted, too. He sure seemed to take offense when he heard that we'd signed Thomas.

I wonder if this wasn't just a favor to Parcells and Ireland. We were likely cutting him anyway. As reported, the 4th was just for Fasano. Ayodele was thrown in later. Miami gets Ayodele at a decent contract without having to worry about the hazards of free agency.

Jerry gets to build good will for free essentially.

I dunno... Like speedkilz said, Norm was saying that Bill called about Fasano, and Jerry almost at the last minute asked if he'd get any more if he threw in Akin, too. Bill said okay, and he got a higher pick than he was going to get for Antny alone.

Akin Ayodele = Al Singleton

BINGO

Ayodele - slightly more stout at point of attack but both basically were Casper The Friendly Ghost out there.

I concur with what most of the people here are saying... I tried to think of the biggest plays these two made last year.... after 10 minutes I gave up on thinking of one for Akin... seriously he was invisible.. that is not a good trait for a LB'er.. and he was weak in his zone coverage and almost never arrived first to the ball..

Fasano... well... um.. he had that drop.. and... ok.. I think he made a catch or two.. but appeared undersized and overpowered.. I also had the feeling that Curtis was really starting to look better and was going to be getting more playing time.. he flashed more than Fasano did.

Good trade all the way around.

Nors I couldn't agree with you more.. JAG

Don't.

Try to remember the last time you saw him make a play.
Stop Gap player.

And also remember Wade covets faster LBers than Bill who was obsessed with Huge LB's. Amodel was not a fit for his 3-4

Carp has the tools, indeed he has the speed, agility, and power ... but he has not yet produced. I'm hoping (and expecting) that Zach can play most of this year and teach Carp how to be a stud.

And actually, this is what I expect to happen.
